A motor vehicle headlamp comprising a first semiconductor light source and a first concave mirror reflector, a second semiconductor light source and a second concave mirror reflector, and a third semiconductor light source and a third reflector. Each semiconductor light source includes at least two separate semiconductor chips. The second semiconductor light source includes a first group of semiconductor chips and a second group of semiconductor chips, and a control circuit, which operates either the first semiconductor light source without the third semiconductor light source, or the third semiconductor light source without the first semiconductor light source, operates at least a first portion of the semiconductor chips of the second semiconductor light source together with the first semiconductor light source, and operates at least a second portion of the semiconductor chips of the second semiconductor light source together with the third semiconductor light source.

A light module () for lighting equipment () of a motor vehicle comprises a plurality of semiconductor light sources () for emitting light, a plurality of reflection areas () for reflecting the light and assigned to separate reflector-element sections (), and a plate-shaped separation element () onto which the reflector-element sections () are movably fixed separate from one another, arranged between the reflection areas (), and onto which the light sources () are mounted such that an emitting direction of the light sources () is substantially perpendicular to an optical axis of the light module (). A motor vehicle headlight assembly includes a reflector extending along a focal line and having an open end, a light source including an elongated gas discharge tube extending within the reflector along the focal line for the light issued thereby onto the reflector to be reflected by the latter into the open end, and an at least translucent light-guiding plate spanning the open end of the reflector and operative for directing light passing through it onto an illumination area situated at a predetermined distance in front of the motor vehicle on which the headlight assembly is mounted when in use. The reflector has at least in general the configuration of a flattened cross-sectionally parabolic cylinder and consists at least in part of two opposing regions at least one of which is inclined by a predetermined angle about the focal line with respect to the position it would have assumed in a true cross-sectionally parabolic cylinder.

Vehicle headlight

A headlight for a vehicle has a reflector, a light source, a lens through which a light reflected by the reflector passes, and at least one element which surrounds the lens at least over a part of its periphery and is at least partially light permeable so that the light emitted by the light source and not engaged by the reflector passes through the element and is collected, the element being provided with ring-shaped optical profiles which form a Fresnel lens.

An illumination device for a vehicle has a housing having a light outlet opening, a light-permeable cover member closing the light outlet opening of the housing, a light source arranged in the housing, a unit forming a side marker light, the a unit including at least one light guiding element in which a light emitted by the light source is uncoupled, the at least one light guiding element extending over a part of a contour of the illumination device, the light guiding element being arranged so that the light exits from the at least one light guiding element over its course from a part of an outer surface of the light guiding element.

The headlight has a reflector (10) and a light source (12) which is arranged in a lamp carrier (22), which can be pivoted in relation to the reflector (10) about a horizontal axis (30) between a position for low beam and a position for high beam by means of an actuator (42). Starting from the position for low beam, the light source (12) is moved as a result of the pivoting movement about the axis (30), together with the lamp carrier (22), both in the direction of the optical axis (11) of the reflector (10) towards its vertex and also vertically downward in relation to the optical axis (11). Starting from the low beam reflected by the reflector (10) in the case of the arrangement of the light source (12) in its low beam position, the result achieved is both a concentration of the light beam reflected by the reflector (10) and an elevation of the light beam, so that an effective high beam is generated by means of which the remote region in front of the vehicle is illuminated with a high illumination intensity.

Low/high beam headlight for vehicles

A headlight has a light source and a reflector. A screening device is associated with the light source and has a web located at both sides of the light source and extending along the optical axis. A light-impermeable cap forms a part of the screening device arranged under the light source. A gap-like opening remains between the upper edges and the lower edges of the webs. Above the web, light emitted by the light source and reflected from the upper region of the reflector can pass and form a low beam to produce an upper bright-dark limit by the upper edges of the webs. The light passing through the gap-like openings is reflected from the lower region of the reflector and forms an additional light beam arranged at a distance above the bright-dark limit.

Headlight for vehicles

The headlamp has a reflector (10) and a light source (12). Disposed in the ray path of the light reflected from the reflector (10) there is a lens (18), which is received in a mounting (20) and consists of an elastically deformable material. The lens (18) is acted upon by at least one control element (22), by which a force can be applied to the lens (18) in order to deform it. The light passing through the lens (18) is influenced, i.e. deflected in its direction. In the nondeformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp exhibits a first characteristic, i.e. direction and scatter, and in the deformed state of the lens (18) the light beam radiating from the headlamp, because of the then different optical effect of the lens (18), exhibits a different, second characteristic.

Vehicle headlamp

An illuminating device for motor vehicles has a plurality of light sources formed as semiconductor light sources, each of the semiconductor light sources emitting light of only one color and light colors emitted by different semiconductor light sources are different. The semiconductor light sources include several semiconductor light sources which emit light of a same color. The semiconductor light sources are distributed so that the lights emitted by all semiconductor light sources produce a light of a uniform color which exits the illuminating device.
