An alcohol-free lotion for the topical application having antiseptic properties is made by combining an aqueous phase comprising formaldehyde and at least one humectant with an oil phase comprising at least one surfactant and at least one oil; wherein the at least one humectant is present in the aqueous phase in the range of from 30 to 75 wt. %., wherein formaldehyde is present in the aqueous phase in the range of from about 1.0 to 20.0 wt. %; wherein the surfactant is present in the oil phase in the range of from about 30 to 60 wt. %; wherein the aqueous phase to oil phase ratio is from about 10:1 to 4:1; and wherein the lotion free of the odor of formaldehyde.

Reduced odor formaldehyde-containing antiseptic lotion

A lip balm formulation for applying to a lip including at least one lipid, a surfactant, and a nicotine active, wherein the lip balm formulation includes about 25 wt. % to 60 wt. % of the surfactant based on the total weight of the formulation; wherein the surfactant includes a mixture of mono- and diglycerides and propylene glycol; wherein the surfactant has an HLB of 4; wherein the lip balm formulation includes about 30 wt. % to 60 wt. % of the at least one lipid based on the total weight of the formulation; wherein the at least one lipid includes hydrogenated palm oil; and wherein the surfactant minimizes the surface tension of the at least one lipid.

Lip balm containing caffeine, nicotine or testosterone

A lip balm formulation for applying to a lip including at least one lipid, a surfactant, and a testosterone active, wherein the lip balm formulation includes about 25 to 60 wt. % of the surfactant based on the total weight of the formulation; wherein the surfactant includes a mixture of mono- and diglycerides and propylene glycol; wherein the surfactant has an HLB of 4; wherein the lip balm formulation includes about 30 wt. % to 60 wt. % of the at least one lipid based on the total weight of the formulation; wherein the at least one lipid includes hydrogenated palm oil; and wherein the surfactant minimizes the surface tension of the at least one lipid.

A lip balm providing a caffeine, nicotine or testosterone active, where the lip balm contains at least one lipid in the range of about 30 wt. % to 60 wt. %; a surfactant in the range of about 60 wt. % to 25 wt. %; caffeine, nicotine or testosterone active in the range of about 1 to 40 wt. %; and less than 1.0 wt. % water, where the lip balm, when applied to a lip, delivers the active in less than about ten minutes.

An alcohol-free lotion for the topical application having sanitizing properties is made by combining an aqueous phase comprising water, a water soluble preservative, an antimicrobial active, and at least one humectant with an oil phase, wherein the at least one humectant is present in the aqueous phase in the range of from 5 to 30 wt. %, wherein the oil phase comprises an oil soluble preservative, at least one surfactant, and at least one oil, wherein the surfactant is present in the oil phase in the range of from about 20 to 60 wt. %, and wherein the aqueous phase to oil phase ratio is from about 12:1 to 1:2.
