Apparatus, system and method of concurrent multiple band (CMB) wireless communication

This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to enhanced bandwidth selection for wireless devices. A device may generate a request frame with at least one of a first indication of a bandwidth for which a second device is to measure a first noise level or a second indication of a resource unit for which the second device is to measure a second noise level. The device may send the request frame to the second device. The device may identify a response frame received from the second device, the response frame having a third indication of the first noise level or the second noise level and a fourth indication of the bandwidth or the resource unit. The device may determine, based on the first noise level or the second noise level, a parameter associated with a subsequent frame to send to the second device.

A component of a wireless communication device configured for any of a plurality of transmission bandwidths. The component includes at least one processor; and a non-transitory processor-readable storage medium including instructions that, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to: monitor a Clear Channel Assessment (CCA) factor or a Request-to-Send (RTS) factor for each of the transmission bandwidths, wherein the CCA factor is a throughput impact estimate based on any CCA transmission deferrals, and the RTS factor is a throughput impact estimate based on any transmission deferrals due to unanswered RTS messages; and dynamically select, based on the CCA factor or the RTS factor, one of the transmission bandwidths that increases a throughput of the wireless communication device.

A method of processing wireless signals, including: receiving a wireless signal carrying a transmission frame having a physical layer header including a data rate index; decoding the physical layer header including the data rate index; filtering out the transmission frame for no further processing if a measured physical layer header energy is below an energy threshold corresponding to the decoded data rate index; decode a sample portion of data codewords of the transmission frame if the transmission frame is not filtered out, wherein the sample portion of data codewords is less than all of the data codewords of the transmission frame; and filtering out the transmission frame for no further processing if the decoding of the sample portion of data codewords fails, and otherwise decode a remainder of the transmission frame.

A device including one or more processors configured to: determine a disconnection margin value based on: a current transmission operation state including one or more transmission control parameters, and a current transmission rate; receive a power back-off (PBO) request including a PBO value; perform a comparison of the PBO value to the disconnection margin value; and determine whether to apply a PBO according to the PBO request based on the comparison.

Described herein are technologies related to an implementation of interference mitigation in a receiver of a portable device. A preemptive-automatic gain control (AGC) system mitigates a collocated or external interfering signal in a receiver of a portable device. The receiver of the portable device receives and processes a data packet of a first radio frequency (RF) signal that includes a Bluetooth (BT) signal, a Wi-Fi signal, a near field communications (NFC), 3G, 4G, or the like. During the processing of the data packet, a collocated or an external second RF signal is detected and received by the receiver. The second RF signal includes an interfering Bluetooth (BT) uplink transmission, a near field communications (NFC) transmission signal, a Wi-Fi transmission signal, 3G or 4G uplink transmission, an LTE signal, or the like.

Some demonstrative embodiments include devices, systems and methods of controlling communications of a multi-radio device. For example, a multi-radio device may include a first radio to communicate over a first wireless network; a first controller to control the first radio; a second radio to communicate over a second wireless network; a second controller to control the second radio; and an interface to communicate signaling messages between the first and second controllers, wherein the first controller is to send to the second controller a request to transmit, the request to transmit indicating a request to allow the first radio to transmit over the first wireless network, and wherein the second controller is to assert a transmit-allowed signal over the interface to indicate that the request to transmit is granted, or to de-assert the transmit-allowed signal to indicate that the request to transmit is denied.
