The present disclosure relates to an automotive braking control apparatus and method. The automotive braking control apparatus includes: a weather condition determiner determining weather conditions on the basis of image information received from a camera; a collision determiner determining possibility of a collision with a forward object on the basis of the image information received from the camera and object sensing information received from a radar; and an automotive braking controller controlling emergency braking of a vehicle when it is determined that there is possibility of a collision with the forward object, in which the collision determiner changes weight for the image information and weight for the object sensing information on the basis of the weather conditions.

Automotive braking control system, apparatus, and method considering weather condition

A gateway control apparatus for vehicles includes a receiver configured to receive vehicle state information from vehicle ECUs and a vehicle-to-vehicle distance from an intelligent cruise control unit. The gateway control apparatus also includes a first memory to store the vehicle state information, a calculation unit to calculate a relative velocity and a relative acceleration from the vehicle state information, and to calculate a collision index. A determination unit determines if the collision index exceeds a predetermined value. A vehicle information management unit determines an accident occurrence time point when the collision index exceeds the predetermined value, and allows the first memory to store pre-accident and post-accident vehicle state information. The gateway control apparatus stores the pre-accident and post-accident vehicle state information even in the case of a fender bender or minor collision to use the stored information for post-accident judgment.

Method and apparatus for gathering vehicle accident information

A gateway control apparatus for vehicles includes a receiver receiving travel state information sent from sensors and vehicle ECUs through interfaces, a first memory storing the travel state information, a determination unit determining occurrence of a vehicle accident or an ECU malfunction based on the travel state information, a second memory, and a controller allowing the second memory to store malfunction information of an associated ECU among the travel state information if the ECU malfunction has occurred, and allowing the first memory to store pre-accident travel state information and post-accident vehicle state information with reference to an accident occurrence time point if the vehicle accident has occurred. The gateway control apparatus enables not only data communication between the ECUs having different communication modes, but also accurate analysis of causes of the vehicle accident or the ECU malfunction. A travel information recording method of the gateway control apparatus is also disclosed.
