A rechargeable lithium battery including: a negative electrode including lithium-vanadium-based oxide, negative active material; a positive electrode including a positive active material to intercalate and deintercalate lithium ions; and an electrolyte including a non-aqueous organic solvent, and a lithium salt. The lithium salt includes 0.7 to 1.2M of a first lithium salt including LiPF6; and 0.3 to 0.8M of a second lithium salt selected from the group consisting of LiBCOF, LiB(CO), LiN(SOC2F), LiN(SOCF), LiBF, LiClO, and combinations thereof.

Rechargeable lithium battery

Negative active materials, negative electrodes, and rechargeable lithium batteries are provided. A negative electrode according to one embodiment includes a non-carbon-based active material, a lithium salt having an oxalatoborate structure, and a high-strength polymer binder. The negative active material may include a non-carbon-based material and a coating layer on the non-carbon-based material. The coating layer includes a lithium salt having an oxalatoborate structure and a high-strength polymer binder. A rechargeable lithium battery including the negative electrode or negative active material has good cycle life characteristics and high capacity.

The rechargeable lithium battery includes: a negative electrode including a non-carbon-based negative active material; a positive electrode including a positive active material that reversibly intercalates and deintercalates lithium ions; and an electrolyte that includes a non-aqueous organic solvent that includes ethylene carbonate in an amount of 20 volume % or less, a lithium salt including LiPF, a first additive represented by the following Formula 1 and a second additive that is LiB(CO). A negative electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery and a rechargeable lithium battery including the same are provided. The negative electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery includes a current collector, and a negative active material layer on the current collector. The negative active material layer includes an interpenetrating network network, and a negative active material in the interpenetrating network network. The interpenetrating network is formed by cross-linking a first polymer having a hydroxyl or amine group and a second polymer having a carboxylic acid group. The negative electrode for a rechargeable lithium battery minimizes volume expansion and imparts good cycle-life characteristics and initial formation efficiency.
