A data decoder includes a communication unit receiving a bit signal with encoded data; a first operation unit that bit shifts the bit signal by a first length, corresponding to a length of a spreading code used to encode the data, to generate a first operation stream; a second operation unit generating a second operation stream without the spreading code; a third operation unit that bit shifts the second operation stream by a second length to generate a third operation stream; a fourth operation unit generating a fourth operation stream from which the data is removed using the second operation stream and the third operation stream; and a polynomial generator that decodes the encoded data using the fourth operation stream.

The present disclosure provides a method for estimating OVSF (orthogonal variable spreading factor) code, the method comprises setting an initial value of a spreading factor and an initial value of an index of the spreading factor; extracting a first reception symbol by dechannelizing a reception signal based on a candidate OVSF code corresponding to the set spreading factor and the set index; acquiring a first code domain power of the first reception symbol; acquiring, if the first code domain power is greater than or equal to a predetermined reference value, variance of power of the first reception symbol which is normalized by the first code domain power; and estimating a used OVSF code based on the variance of the normalized power of the first reception symbol.

According to the present invention A bits-to-symbol mapping method of 4+12+16 APSK modulation, comprising: representing 32 symbols of the 4+12+16 APSK modulation by a polar coordinate and arranging the 32 symbols by a size of &#x3b8; while giving priority to a symbol having a small signal size when the size of &#x3b8; of two or more symbols are same; grouping the arranged 32 symbols into 4 groups according to quadrant regions where the symbols are located; and allocating bits so that the same bits are allocated to the symbols belonging to the same region for each region with respect to each of the first to fifth bits of the symbols grouped into four regions.
