Provided is a file system including a sequential-writing unit configured to perform sequential write to a new block position of a segment when updating a data block, an updating unit configured to update a page mapping table by mapping a logical page number newly allocated to the new block position and a physical page number newly allocated corresponding thereto, and a remapping unit configured to modify the page mapping table by applying a remap command.

A method of operating a multi-core solid state drive includes: receiving an initial internal back copy command including a physical copy referencing a source Logical Page Number (LPN) and a destination LPN from a host, delaying processing of the physical copy when the physical copy requires two different flash translation layers (FTLs), and generating a modified batch internal copy command by replacing the source LPN of the physical copy with a Physical Page Number mapped to the source LPN.

Method for management of multi-core solid state drive

There is provided a data storage device for managing memory resources by using a flash translation layer (FTL) for condensing mapping information. The FTL divides a total logical address space for input and output requests of a host into n virtual logical address streams, generates a preliminary cluster mapping table in accordance with stream attributes of the n virtual logical address streams, generates a condensed cluster mapping table by performing a k-mean clustering algorithm on the preliminary cluster mapping table, and generates a cache cluster mapping table configured as a part of a condensed cluster mapping table frequently referred to by using a DFTL method. The FTL extends a space of data buffers allotted to non-mapped physical address streams to a DFTL cache map in a data buffer of a volatile memory device by the condensed cluster mapping table.

A computing device includes a storage device in which a program for operating a file system is stored, and a processor configured to execute the program stored in the storage device wherein, in response to execution of the program, if a write request upon a file to be stored in the storage device is generated, the processor calculates, based on one or more file write methods included in the file system, an overhead of each of the one or more write methods, selects a file write method having the smallest overhead among the one or more file write methods, and records the file in the storage device by using the selected file write method, the one or more file write methods include slack space recycling (SSR), internal-segment-copying-based garbage collection and external-segment-copying-based garbage collection.
