The present disclosure relates to a plurality of autonomous cleaners. A first cleaner of the plurality of autonomous cleaners according to one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a traveling unit to move a main body thereof, a communication unit to perform communication with a second cleaner, and a control unit to determine a position of the second cleaner using an Ultra-WideBand (UWB) signal output from the communication unit, and set area information, in which the first and second cleaners are to perform cleaning, based on a position of the first cleaner and the position of the second cleaner, wherein the control unit controls the second cleaner based on second area information in which the second cleaner is to perform cleaning.

Plurality of autonomous cleaner and controlling method for the same

Disclosed are a robot cleaner and a method for controlling same. The robot cleaner comprises: a travel unit for moving a main body; a communication unit for communicating with a remote control device by using ultra-wideband signals; and a control unit which, in response to a first optical signal emitted from the remote control device to the main body, calculates the position of the remote control device by using the ultra-wideband signals that are output to the communication unit. Also, the control unit recognizes, in response to a second optical signal emitted from the remote control device directly after the first optical signal, the position of a target point corresponding to the second optical signal and calculated on the basis of the determined position of the remote control device, and generates a travel command to move the main body to the recognized position of the target point.

A mobile robot includes a communication unit that communicates with another mobile robot, a sensing unit for sensing the other mobile robot existing in a detection area encompassing a predetermined projected angle with respect to the front of a main body of the mobile robot, and a control unit configured for rotating the main body so that the other mobile robot is sensed in the detection area. A plurality of autonomous mobile robots comprise a first mobile robot including an antenna configured to transmit and receive signals, and a second mobile robot including a first antenna and a second antenna disposed on a front area of a main body thereof to transmit and receive signals to and from the antenna of the first mobile robot. The second mobile robot comprises a control unit configured to determine a relative position of the first mobile robot using the signal received by the first antenna and the second antenna.

A plurality of autonomous mobile robots includes a first mobile robot and a second mobile robot. The first mobile robot is provided with a transmitting optical sensor for outputting laser light, and a first module for transmitting and receiving an Ultra-Wideband (UWB) signal. A plurality of autonomous mobile robots includes a first mobile robot provided with a transmitting sensor for outputting sound wave of a first frequency, and a first module for transmitting and receiving a signal of a second frequency higher than the first frequency. A second mobile robot is provided with a receiving sensor for receiving the sound wave of the first frequency and a second module for transmitting and receiving the signal of the second frequency. A control unit of the second mobile robot synchronizes an output time of the sound wave of the first frequency from the first mobile robot using the signal of the second frequency, and determines a relative position of the first mobile robot using the sound wave of the first frequency.

A cleaning system may include a first mobile robot, a communication unit configured to communicate with a second mobile robot that emits a second signal, and a controller configured to recognize the location of the second mobile robot using the second signal, and control a moving speed of the first mobile robot such that the second mobile robot follows a trajectory corresponding to the movement of the first mobile robot based on the recognized location. The controller may transmit a first signal to the second mobile robot in response to the first mobile robot approaching the second mobile robot to within a distance less than a threshold distance from the second mobile robot, and control avoidance moving of the first mobile robot and the second mobile robot based on the second signal of the second mobile robot responding to the first signal.

A mobile robot according to an embodiment of the present disclosure may comprise a main body, a moving unit configured to move the main body, a communication unit configured to communicate with a second mobile robot that emits a signal, and a controller configured to recognize a position of the another mobile robot using the signal, control the moving unit to follow a trajectory corresponding to a movement of the another mobile robot based on the recognized position, and in response to the length of trajectory to be followed by the main body deviating from the predetermined range, output a control command to cause a moving speed of the main body or the second mobile robot to change.
