A display module may include a plurality of pixels, wherein each of the plurality of pixels includes a plurality of subpixels of different colors that are disposed in a matrix form. Each of the plurality of subpixels includes an inorganic light emitting element, a constant current generator which provides a constant current to the inorganic light emitting element, and a pulse width modulation (PWM) circuit which includes a first depletion mode driving transistor, and controls a time during which the constant current flows through the inorganic light emitting element based on a PWM data voltage applied to a gate terminal of the first depletion mode driving transistor and a threshold voltage of the first depletion mode driving transistor.

Display module and driving method of display module

In a display apparatus, a display panel includes a pixel array of pixels, each pixel disposed on one of a plurality of row lines and including a plurality of inorganic LEDs, and a sub pixel circuit corresponding to each of the plurality of LEDs. Each sub pixel circuit includes a PMOSFET driving transistor, and drives a corresponding LED based on an applied image data voltage. A sensing part senses a current through the driving transistor of at least one sub pixel circuit based on a specified voltage applied to the sub pixel circuit, and outputs corresponding sensing data. A correcting part corrects an image data voltage applied to the sub pixel circuit based on the sensing data. In each LED, an anode electrode is coupled to a common node to which a driving voltage is applied, and a cathode electrode is coupled to a source terminal of the driving transistor.

Display apparatus including pixel arrays formed of self-emissive devices

A display module is provided. The display module includes a plurality of sub-pixel circuits, each sub-pixel circuit including: an inorganic light-emitting diode, a transistor connected in parallel with the inorganic light-emitting diode, and a pulse width modulation (PWM) circuit configured to control a light-emitting time of the inorganic light-emitting diode by controlling a voltage of a gate terminal of the transistor based on an applied PWM data voltage that is applied to the PWM circuit; and a pulse amplitude modulation (PAM) circuit which is connected in series with an inorganic light-emitting diode of one of the plurality of sub-pixel circuits, the PAM circuit being configured to provide a driving current having a constant amplitude to the inorganic light-emitting diodes, wherein the inorganic light-emitting diodes of the plurality of sub-pixel circuits are connected in series to each other.

Display module and display device

Disclosed is a display apparatus. The display apparatus includes: display modules, each of which includes: a display panel composed of inorganic light emitting elements arranged in row lines, and sub-pixel circuits respectively corresponding to the inorganic light emitting elements; and a driver configured to drive the sub-pixel circuits in an order of the row lines based on a start signal provided from a timing controller. The timing controller is configured to: provide a first start signal to the driver of a first display module to control the inorganic light emitting elements to sequentially emit light from a first row line to a last row line, and provide a second start signal to the driver of a second display module to control the inorganic light emitting elements to sequentially emit light following an emission order of the inorganic light emitting elements included in the last row line of the first display module.

Display apparatus

A display module comprises: a display panel; and a driving unit configured to apply a first control signal for setting a PWM data voltage to sub-pixels, included in each row-line of the display panel for each image frame, to the sub-pixels in a row-line order, and apply a second control signal for controlling the light emission of sub-pixels, included in each row-line, to the sub-pixel in a row-line order, wherein the sub-pixels included in each row-line emit light for a time corresponding to the PWM data voltage set according to the first control signal, based on the second control signal applied to the light emission section corresponding to the image frame, and do not emit light for a preset time based on second control signal applied in a period between consecutive image frame periods.

Display module including a display panel and driving circuit

A display apparatus includes: a modular display panel including a plurality of display modules; and a timing controller. Each of the plurality of display modules includes: a display panel including a pixel array and subpixel circuits; and a driving unit which drives the subpixel circuits such that inorganic light-emitting elements in the pixel array successively emit light in a first order of multiple row lines or in a second order opposite to the first order. The timing controller provides the driving unit of a first display module with first control signals for causing the inorganic light-emitting elements of the first display module to emit light in the first order, and provides the driving unit of a second display module, which is positioned above or below the first display module, with second control signals for causing the inorganic light-emitting elements of the second display module to emit light in the second order.

A display device includes a display panel including a pixel array including a plurality of pixels and a plurality of sub-pixel circuits, each pixel of the plurality of pixels including a plurality of inorganic light emitting elements and a sub-pixel circuit of the plurality of sub-pixel circuits being provided for an inorganic light emitting element of the plurality of inorganic light emitting elements, a driver configured to set the image data voltage to sub-pixel circuits included in each of the plurality of row lines in an order of the row lines, a sensing unit configured to sense a current flowing in a driving transistor included in the sub-pixel circuit based on a specific voltage applied to the sub-pixel circuit, and output sensing data corresponding to the sensed current, and a correction unit configured to correct the image data voltage applied to the sub-pixel circuit based on the sensing data.

A display device includes: a display panel including a pixel array, in which pixels that include a plurality of inorganic light-emitting devices of different colors are arranged in a matrix form, and a pixel circuit that is provided for each of the plurality of inorganic light-emitting devices, and the pixel circuit controls, on the basis of an applied image data voltage, the driving time and the magnitude of driving current provided to the inorganic light-emitting devices; a sensor which senses, on the basis of a voltage applied to the pixel circuit, a current flowing through a driving transistor included in the pixel circuit and which outputs sensing data corresponding to the sensed current; and a corrector which corrects, on the basis of the sensed data, the image data voltage applied to the pixel circuit.

Display apparatus and control method therefor

Provided is a display apparatus including a modular display panel that includes a plurality of displays disposed in a matrix form and respectively including a display panel including a pixel array in which pixels including a plurality of inorganic light emitting elements are disposed in a plurality of row lines, sub-pixel circuits respectively corresponding to inorganic light emitting elements of the pixel array, a driver configured to drive the sub-pixel circuits, a sensor configured to sense a current flowing in a driving transistor included in the sub-pixel circuits and output sensing data corresponding to the sensed current, and a processor configured to correct the image data voltage applied to the sub-pixel circuits based on the sensing data, and a timing controller configured to provide a first start signal to a driver of a first display and a second start signal to a driver of a second display.

A display module includes a display panel in which a plurality of pixels each including a plurality of sub-pixels are disposed on a plurality of row lines; and a driver. The driver is configured to set a PWM data voltage to the plurality of sub-pixels included in the plurality of row lines in a row line sequence, apply a sweep signal, which is a voltage signal sweeping between two different voltages, to sub-pixels among the plurality of sub-pixels that are included in at least some consecutive row lines among the plurality of row lines in the row line sequence, and drive the display panel to cause the sub-pixels included in the at least some consecutive row lines to emit light based on the PWM data voltage in the row line sequence.

A display module including a display panel comprising a plurality of pixels each comprising a plurality of sub pixels, the pixels being disposed on a plurality of row lines of the display panel and a driver. The driver being configured to apply a pulse width modulation (PWM) data voltage to the sub pixels in a sequential order of the row lines; and drive the display panel such that the sub pixels included in a plurality of consecutive row lines among the plurality of row lines emit light, in the sequential order of the row lines, for a time corresponding to the applied PWM data voltage.
