An interface device includes an electronic device and an input device for communicating with the electronic device. The electronic device includes a display layer, a sensor layer, and a controller for outputting a first uplink signal and a second uplink signal to the sensor layer. The input device includes a communication unit for receiving an uplink signal from the sensor layer, a memory for storing first information and second information, a signal determination unit for determining whether the uplink signal is the first uplink signal or the second uplink signal, based on the first information and the second information, and a signal conversion unit for outputting conversion data in response to the uplink signal being the second uplink signal.

Input device driving method and interface device using the same

An electronic device includes: a display panel configured to display an image; an input sensor comprising transmission electrodes on the display panel and reception electrodes that insulately cross the transmission electrodes; and a sensor controller configured to operate in a first mode or a second mode different from the first mode, wherein, in the first mode, the sensor controller is configured to transmit an uplink signal to an input device through the input sensor and to receive a downlink signal from the input device through the input sensor, wherein an input sensing frame, in which the sensor controller operates in the first mode, comprises an uplink period for which the uplink signal is provided to the input sensor, and the sensor controller is configured to not apply the uplink signal to at least a portion of the transmission electrodes during the uplink period.

An electronic device includes: an input sensor on a display panel; and a sensor controller configured to operate in a first mode for sensing a first input by an input device or a second mode for sensing a second input through the input sensor, the sensor controller being configured to transmit an uplink signal to the input device through the input sensor and to receive a downlink signal from the input device through the input sensor in the first mode, wherein an input sensing frame comprises an uplink period in which the uplink signal is provided to the input sensor, and an interval between a start time point of the display frame and a start time point of the uplink period is variable in a unit of at least one input sensing frame during k input sensing frames, where k is an integer equal to or greater than 2.
