The present invention relates to an impregnated supported catalyst, a carbon nanotube aggregate, and a method for producing the carbon nanotube aggregate. The carbon nanotube aggregate includes a four-component catalyst in which catalytic components and active components are supported on a granular support, and bundle type carbon nanotubes grown on the catalyst. The carbon nanotube aggregate has an average particle diameter of 100 to 800 &#x3bc;m, a bulk density of 80 to 250 kg/m, and a spherical or potato-like shape.

Supported catalyst, carbon nanotube assembly, and preparation method therefor

Provided is an electrode for electrolysis and a preparation method of the same. The electrode for electrolysis has an improved needle-like structure of a rare earth metal compared to conventional electrodes, and thus detachment of catalytic materials is reduced, so that the electrode is excellent in durability such as exhibiting stable performance even in a reverse current flow. Further, since the electrode for electrolysis has a low overvoltage value, an overvoltage required amount of the electrolytic cell can be remarkably reduced. In addition, an electrode for electrolysis having the above effect can be prepared without introducing additional precursors or changing manufacturing facilities.

The present invention relates to a supported catalyst having a structure in which a metal catalyst is supported on a core-shell structured support. The support includes core particles and shell particles having a smaller particle diameter than the core particles and coated on the core particles to form a shell layer. Due to this structure, the supported catalyst can be used to produce carbon nanostructures that form a novel secondary structure in which ends of the carbon nanostructures are supported on the supported catalyst and form independent branches and the opposite ends grow and are assembled together. The novel structure is expected to find application in various fields, such as energy materials, functional composites, pharmaceuticals, batteries, and semiconductors, because of its characteristic shape.

Provided is an apparatus for producing a carbon nanotube fiber. The apparatus includes: a vertical reactor having a reaction zone; an inlet through which a spinning solution is introduced into the bottom of the reaction zone of the reactor; an inlet through which a carrier gas is introduced into the bottom of the reaction zone of the reactor; heating means for heating the reaction zone; and a discharge unit disposed on the top of the reaction zone and through which a carbon nanotube fiber is discharged from the reactor. The spinning solution entering the reaction zone through the spinning solution inlet is carbonized and graphitized while ascending from the bottom of the reaction zone by the carrier gas entering through the carrier gas inlet, to form a carbon nanotube fiber consisting of continuous aggregates of carbon nanotubes. Further provided is a carbon nanotube fiber produced using the apparatus. The carbon nanotube fiber is long and exhibits high electrical conductivity, tensile strength, and elasticity. Due to these advantages, the carbon nanotube fiber is expected to find a variety of applications, including multifunctional composite materials, deformation/damage sensors, transmission cables, and electrochemical devices, for example, microelectrode materials for biological substance detection, supercapacitors, and actuators.

A classifier includes a central particle inlet, an inclined feed surface, and a classification surface. A plurality of particle feeding vanes are positioned above the feed surface, and the plurality of particle feeding vanes rotate above the feed surface. A plurality of classification vanes are positioned above the classification surface, and the plurality of classification vanes rotate above the classification surface. Particles enter the classifier through the inlet near an axis of rotation and flow radially outward on the feed surface to the classification surface.
