An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display with improved long range uniformity, driving method and manufacturing method are disclosed. The OLED display manufacturing method includes forming a first active pattern on a substrate, a gate insulating layer, a gate electrode overlapping at least a part of the first active pattern on the gate insulating layer and an interlayer insulating layer. The OLED display manufacturing method further includes forming a conductive layer pattern and an anode of an OLED, forming a pixel defining layer and forming the OLED by forming an organic emission layer and a cathode. The conductive layer pattern is formed to cover the gate electrode and contact a first power line on the interlayer insulating layer.

Organic light emitting display device, driving method thereof, and manufacturing method thereof

There is provided an organic light emitting display device for preventing short and voltage drop between lines to improve yield. The organic light emitting display device includes: a plurality of sub-pixels located at crossing regions of a plurality of gate lines and a plurality of data lines; first power lines for supplying a voltage for driving the sub-pixels, each of the first power lines being shared by two adjacent sub-pixels from among the plurality of sub-pixels; and initial power lines for supplying an initial power to the sub-pixels, each of the initial power lines being shared by the two adjacent sub-pixels and located between the two adjacent sub-pixels.

Organic light emitting display device

A driver and a display device using the same may be provided. The driver, according to an exemplary embodiment includes at least one logic unit, receiving a plurality of clock signals and a plurality of input signals, to generate and sequentially transmit output signals to a plurality of pixel rows included in a display unit, and a buffer unit, receiving a plurality of control signals, to generate and simultaneously transmit the output signals of a same waveform to a plurality of pixels included in the display unit, wherein the at least one logic unit is supplied with a logic power source voltage, and the buffer unit is supplied with a buffer power source voltage, the buffer power source voltage being different from the logic power source voltage.

Driver with separate power sources and display device using the same

An OLED display device includes first and second group pixels that emit light during first and second fields, respectively; first and second scan lines respectively coupled to the first and second group pixels; and first and second power lines for respectively supplying first and second power voltages to the first and second group pixels. The first and second power lines are coupled with first electrodes of the respective storage capacitors of the first and second group pixels, and the first power voltage is supplied as a first level voltage for a first period during which the first group pixels concurrently emit light. The first and second power lines are coupled with first electrodes of the respective storage capacitors of the first and second group pixels, and the first power voltage is supplied as a first level voltage for a first period during which the first group pixels concurrently emit light.

Organic light emitting diode display device

An organic light emitting display device is capable of securing sufficient compensation period such that a threshold voltage of a driving transistor may be compensated. A pixel includes: an organic light emitting diode; a second transistor for controlling an amount of current supplied from a first power source to the organic light emitting diode; a first capacitor having a first terminal coupled to a gate electrode of the second transistor; a first transistor coupled between a second terminal of the first capacitor and a data line, and being configured to turn on when a scan signal is supplied to a scan line; and a third transistor coupled between a gate electrode and a second electrode of the second transistor and having a turning-on period that is not overlapped with that of the first transistor. The third transistor is configured to turn on for a longer time than the first transistor.

Pixel and organic light emitting display device using the same

An organic light-emitting display apparatus may include a substrate; a thin-film transistor (TFT) disposed on the substrate, and having an active layer, a gate electrode, a source electrode and a drain electrode; a signal line formed on the same layer as the source electrode and the drain electrode; a first insulating layer covers the signal line, the source electrode, and the drain electrode; a pixel electrode formed on the first insulating layer, and electrically connected to the TFT; a pixel-defining layer formed on the first insulating layer, includes an opening exposing the pixel electrode; an intermediate layer formed on the pixel electrode, and includes a light-emitting layer; and an opposite electrode formed on the intermediate layer. The intermediate layer is formed on the pixel-defining layer so as to overlap with the signal line.

Organic light-emitting display apparatus

An organic light emitting display is disclosed. According to some aspects, the display includes a substrate having a display region and a peripheral region that surrounds the display region. The display further includes a pixel in the display region, and a contact unit in the peripheral region. The contact unit is configured to receive a common power signal from an external power source. A wiring line unit on the substrate provides a driving signal to the pixel. The pixel includes a first electrode provided on the substrate, an organic light emitting layer provided on the first electrode, and a second electrode that protrudes toward the contact unit on a plane to be electrically coupled to the contact unit. As a result, the area in which the second electrode overlaps the wiring line unit in the peripheral region is reduced and the parasitic capacitance that may be generated between the second electrode and the wiring line may be reduced.

Organic light emitting display

A thin film transistor for an organic light emitting display device is disclosed. In one embodiment, the thin film transistor includes: a substrate, an active layer formed over the substrate, wherein the active layer is formed of an oxide semiconductor, a gate insulating layer formed over the substrate and the active layer, and source and drain electrodes formed on the gate insulating layer and electrically connected to the active layer. The transistor may further include a gate electrode formed on the gate insulating layer and formed between the source and drain electrodes, wherein the gate electrode is spaced apart from the source electrode so as to define a first offset region therebetween, and wherein the gate electrode is spaced apart from the drain electrode so as to define a second offset region therebetween. The transistor may further include a passivation layer formed on i) the gate insulating layer, ii) the source and drain electrodes and iii) the gate electrode; and at least one auxiliary gate electrode formed on the passivation layer, wherein at least a portion of the auxiliary gate electrode is located directly above the first and second offset regions.

Thin film transistor, method of manufacturing the thin film transistor and organic light emitting display device have the thin film transistor

An organic light emitting display includes a display unit that includes scan lines and data lines. First sub-pixels, second sub-pixels, and third sub-pixels that emit light corresponding to different colors are repeatedly arranged in a uniform pattern. The organic light emitting display also includes a scan driver for supplying scan signals to the scan lines; a data driver coupled to one end of each of the data lines for supplying data signals to the data lines; a switch unit coupled between the one end of each of the data lines and the data driver to transmit the data signals supplied from output lines of the data driver to the data lines; and a test circuit unit including transistors coupled to other ends of the data lines. The first sub-pixels and the second sub-pixels are alternately arranged in same columns and the third sub-pixels are arranged in columns adjacent to the same columns.

Organic light emitting display and mother substrate thereof

A pixel circuit of a flat panel display device and a method for driving thereof are provided. The pixel circuit includes a first transistor having a first gate electrode coupled to a scan line, a second electrode coupled to a data line, a second gate electrode coupled to a controlling signal line, and a first electrode, a second transistor having a first gate electrode coupled to the first electrode of the first transistor, a second electrode coupled to a first voltage source, a second gate electrode coupled to the controlling signal line, and a first electrode, a capacitor coupled between the first gate electrode of the second transistor and the first electrode of the second transistor, and an organic light emitting diode coupled between the first electrode of the second transistor and a second voltage source, in which the threshold voltage of the first and second transistors may be controlled to the required level by supplying a controlling signal of a fixed voltage level to the second gate electrodes of the first and second transistors through the controlling signal line.

Pixel circuit of a flat panel display device and method of driving the same

An organic light emitting display device for improving the yield and for reducing or minimizing manufacturing costs. The organic light emitting display device includes: a data driver coupled to data lines that are formed on the panel; a scan driver mounted on the panel and coupled to scan lines that are formed on the panel; input lines for receiving clock signals from the outside; first connecting lines overlapped with a cathode electrode and electrically coupled to the input lines and for supplying the clock signals to the scan driver; second connecting lines electrically coupled to the input lines; and third connecting lines for electrically coupling the first connecting lines to the second connecting lines.

An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display with improved long range uniformity is disclosed. The OLED display includes an OLED, a first transistor for transmitting a data signal of a voltage level in response to a current scan signal, a second transistor for generating a driving current of the OLED according to the data signal of the voltage level transmitted by the first transistor, a first capacitor for storing the data signal of the voltage level transmitted to the second transistor, and a second capacitor for shielding parasitic capacitor between a gate electrode of the second transistor and a cathode of the OLED.

An organic light emitting display device includes a display region including first sub-pixels, second sub-pixels and third sub-pixels at crossing regions of scan lines and data lines and arranged in a repeating pattern, the first, second and third sub-pixels for emitting light of different colors, a scan driver for supplying scan signals to the scan lines; a data driver for supplying data signals to the data lines; and a data distributor between the data driver and the data lines for distributing the data signals from output lines of the data driver to the data lines. Ones of the first and second sub-pixels are alternately arranged in a first column, and ones of the third sub-pixels are arranged in a second column adjacent to the first column.
