Disclosed herein is a smart control valve for compressors that is capable of easily accomplishing compression and communication in a compression chamber of a cylinder, without performing the repetitive on/off operation of the compressor, to change the capacity of the compressor. The smart control valve comprises a valve body mounted on a cylinder including refrigerant inlet and outlet ports, a valve inlet port formed at the valve body and communicating with the refrigerant inlet port of the cylinder, a valve outlet port formed at the valve body and communicating with the refrigerant outlet port of the cylinder, an actuating groove disposed under the valve inlet port and the valve outlet port of the valve body, and an actuator disposed in the actuating groove for performing a linear reciprocating movement in the actuating groove as a solenoid is operated.

Smart control valve for compressors

Disclosed herein is a capacity-changing unit of an orbiting vane compressor that is capable of performing normal operation and no-load operation in inner and outer compression chambers through simple manipulation of a rotary valve plate, thereby easily changing the capacity of the compressor according to operation modes. The capacity-changing unit comprises a rotary valve plate disposed between a cylinder and a subsidiary frame for opening or closing a communication channel connected between an inlet port of the cylinder and inner and outer outlet ports of the cylinder as an actuator is rotated in alternating directions. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of reducing power consumption and preventing reduction in service life of the parts of the orbiting vane compressor due to repetitive on/off operation of the orbiting vane compressor, and therefore, improving the performance and reliability of the orbiting vane compressor.

Capacity-changing unit of orbiting vane compressor

Disclosed herein is a low-pressure type orbiting vane compressor that is capable of diverging low-temperature and low-pressure refrigerant gas introduced into a shell through an inlet tube to an inlet port of a cylinder and a drive unit so as to simultaneously compress the refrigerant gas and cool the drive unit. The orbiting vane compressor comprises a vertical baffle disposed in the shell while being spaced apart from the inner end of the inlet tube, and a diverging channel defined between the baffle and the inlet tube, the diverging channel having one end communicating with the inlet port of the cylinder and the other end communicating with the drive unit. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of preventing overheating of the drive unit, and therefore, improving performance and reliability of the orbiting vane compressor.

Low-pressure type orbiting vane compressor

The double-acting type orbiting vane compressor comprises an orbiting vane having upper and lower circular vanes formed at the upper and lower surfaces of a vane plate of the orbiting vane, respectively, the orbiting vane being attached to a crankshaft rotatable by a drive unit, an upper compression unit having the upper circular vane of the orbiting vane disposed in an upper cylinder, and a lower compression unit having the lower circular vane of the orbiting vane disposed in a lower cylinder. As the orbiting vane performs an orbiting movement in the upper and lower cylinders, refrigerant gases introduced into the upper and lower cylinders through inlet tubes respectively formed at the upper and lower cylinders are compressed, and are then discharged out of the upper and lower cylinders through outlet ports respectively formed at the upper and lower cylinders.

Double-acting type orbiting vane compressor

Disclosed herein is a compression unit of an orbiting vane compressor having improved tight contact between a circular vane and sealing means wherein the sealing means can be easily manufactured. The compression unit compresses refrigerant gas introduced by an orbiting movement of a circular vane in an annular space defined between the inner wall of a cylinder and an inner ring. The compression unit comprises a first horizontal contact surface formed at the outer circumferential surface of the inner ring, a second horizontal contact surface formed at the inner wall of the cylinder while being parallel with the first horizontal contact surface, and a linear slider disposed in an opening formed at the circular vane for performing a linear reciprocating movement along the first and second horizontal contact surfaces.

Disclosed herein is a compression unit of an orbiting vane compressor. The compression unit comprises a circular operation space formed in a cylinder, the circular operation space having opposite ends, a circular vane disposed in the operation space for performing an orbiting movement, the circular vane having opposite ends, a linear slider disposed in the operation space for performing a linear reciprocating movement while one end of the linear slider is in contact with the end of the circular vane, and a pressurizing member disposed in the operation space adjacent to the other end of the linear slider for applying pressure to the linear slider such that the linear slider is brought into tight contact with the circular vane. Consequently, interference between the inner wall of the cylinder and the circular vane is prevented, and creation of dead volume in the operation space is prevented.

Disclosed herein is a slider adapting apparatus for orbiting vane compressors. A circular vane of an orbiting vane is disposed in an annular space defined in a cylinder. A pair of sliders is coupled with the circular vane for performing reciprocating movement along the annular space while being in tight contact with both ends of an opening formed at the circular vane to seal between compression chambers formed in the annular space. The slider adapting apparatus comprises a gap defined between the sliders, which are spaced apart from each other, and a gap maintaining part for maintaining the gap while increasing and decreasing the gap. Using the slider adapting apparatus, damage to parts and a locking phenomenon due to severe interference between the circular vane and the sliders are prevented, and therefore, a drive unit of the orbiting vane compressor is effectively prevented from suffering overload and catching fire.

Disclosed herein is a capacity-changing unit of an orbiting vane compressor that is capable of selectively accomplishing compression or communication in inner and outer compression chambers of a cylinder through simple manipulation of a valve, thereby easily changing the capacity of the orbiting vane compressor. The capacity-changing unit includes a smart control valve comprising a valve body disposed on the cylinder, a first actuating part formed at one side of the valve body for performing compression and communication in the inner compression chamber of the cylinder, and a second actuating part formed at the other side of the valve body for performing compression and communication in the outer compression chamber of the cylinder.

Disclosed herein is an oil supply structure for a slider of an orbiting vane compressor capable of providing effective lubrication to reciprocating surfaces of the slider reciprocating in an annular space of a compressor cylinder. The oil supply structure comprises an oil supply slot formed at an upper surface of an inner ring provided in the cylinder to supply oil to outer surfaces of the slider, and oil grooves formed at the outer surfaces of the slider to guide the oil, supplied through the oil supply slot, along the outer surfaces of the slider. The oil supply structure achieves effective lubrication of the reciprocating surfaces of the slider to thereby reduce friction between the slider and the cylinder, resulting in improved compressor performance.

Disclosed herein is a back pressure apparatus for orbiting vane compressors that is capable of reducing excessive axial force applied to an orbiting vane due to high-pressure refrigerant gas introduced to the lower surface of a vane plate of the orbiting vane. The back pressure apparatus comprises a back pressure chamber formed at the upper surface of a main frame, which is brought into tight contact with the lower surface of a vane plate of an orbiting vane, and a low-pressure gas communication part for allowing the back pressure chamber and an inlet port to communicate with each other therethrough. Consequently, the present invention has the effect of preventing excessive friction between the orbiting vane and the inner surface of a cylinder, preventing damage to the orbiting vane compressor due to the friction, and preventing deterioration of performance of the orbiting vane compressor due to the frictional loss.

Back pressure apparatus for orbiting vane compressors

Disclosed herein is an orbiting vane compressor incorporating an orbiting vane with oil supply function that is capable of performing more smooth orbiting movement. The orbiting vane has a compression unit comprising an orbiting vane having a boss formed in the center thereof such that the upper end of a crankshaft having an oil supplying channel formed therethrough is fixedly fitted in the boss, the orbiting vane being disposed between an annular space defined between the inner wall of a cylinder and an inner ring, and an Oldham's ring disposed at the lower surface of the orbiting vane for preventing rotation of the orbiting vane. An oil supplying hole is formed on a vane plate of the orbiting vane outside the boss for allowing oil to be supplied to the upper surface of the vane plate.

Disclosed herein is a capacity-changing unit disposed in an orbiting vane compressor, which compresses refrigerant gas introduced into a cylinder through an orbiting movement of an orbiting vane in the cylinder, for easily changing capacity of the orbiting vane compressor in a mechanical bypass fashion. The capacity-changing unit comprises a bypass channel communicating with an outer compression chamber formed in the cylinder, and a bypass valve disposed on the bypass channel for opening and closing the bypass channel. According to the present invention, the orbiting vane compressor is selectively operated not only in normal operation mode where compression is performed in an inner compression chamber as well as the outer compression chamber but also in economic operation mode where compression is performed only in the inner compression chamber.

A scroll compressor is disclosed. In the scroll compressor, a first compression chamber is formed between an orbiting scroll and a fixed scroll, and a second compression chamber is additionally formed between the orbiting scroll and the main frame. Accordingly, when the orbiting scroll orbits, a refrigerant gas is compressed in both compression chambers at the same time, so that the scroll compressor can have a capacity greater than those of other compressors having the same size.

A scroll compressor includes: a frame fixedly installed in the casing to support a rotary shaft of the driving motor and having a second suction opening at its one side and a second discharge opening at its other side; a fixed scroll fixedly installed at the frame and having a first suction opening at its edgemost and a first discharge opening at its central portion; an orbiting scroll forming a first compression chamber by being engaged with the fixed scroll; a self-rotation preventing member interposed between the frame and the orbiting scroll for preventing a self-rotation of the orbiting scroll; and a vane making a linear movement in a radial direction of the frame according to an orbiting movement of the orbiting scroll, and forming between the frame and the orbiting scroll a second compression chamber including a spaces where the second suction and discharge opening exists.

An eccentric coupling device in a radial compliance scroll compressor includes a crank pin that is eccentrically arranged at an upper end of a crankshaft and provided with a vertically-extending flat surface at one side thereof. A bush is provided with a crank pin hole, overlapped by a stopper hole, for receiving the crank pin. A stopper is fitted in the stopper hole such that the stopper radially protrudes into the crank pin hole toward the flat surface to selectively come into contact with the flat surface in accordance with a rotation of the bush. An elevating preventing device is adapted to elastically support the bush, while connecting the stopper and the crank pin via a spring wire, preventing an elevation of the bush.
