Phase separated articles that include a matrix phase including an acrylate copolymer; and a silicone elastomer phase stably dispersed in the matrix phase are described. The matrix phase may be derived from precursors comprising from 60 to 95 parts by weight of an alkyl acrylate having an alkyl group having 1 to 14 carbon atoms. Methods of forming phase separated articles, and articles including phase separated articles are also described.

Phase separated articles

Wet-on-wet coating processes are provided to produce multilayer articles. First and second coating materials are sequentially applied on to a structured substrate surface to form a skin layer directly over the structured substrate surface and a bulk layer over the skin layer. The conformability of the skin layer can be adjusted to provide desired surface and bulk properties.

Multilayer articles via wet-on-wet processing

A curable composition that includes a urethane multifunctional (meth)acrylate, an inorganic filler having a primary particle dimension of at least 200 nm, a photoinitiator system that can be activated by electromagnetic radiation in the range of 340-550 nm, a reactive diluent, and a reinforcing silica having a primary particle dimension of 100 nm of less. The sum of the absolute value of the difference in the refractive index of the filler and the refractive index of the composition cured without filler plus the birefringence of the filler is 0.054 or less, i.e. 0.054&#x2265;|n&#x2212;n|+&#x3b4;, where nis the refractive index of the filler, nis the refractive index of the composition cured without filler, and &#x3b4;is the birefringence of the filler.

Light curable compositions

The present disclosure provides an oil-resistant adhesive comprising a crosslinked copolymer of (meth)acrylic ester monomers, methyl (meth)acrylate monomers, vinyl ester monomers, and a functional monomer selected from one of (meth)acrylic acid, a (meth)acrylamide or a hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate monomers.

Conformable coating composition are described comprising a (meth)acrylate copolymer comprising interpolymerized monomer units of fluorinated monomer and a volatile solvent having a solubility parameter from 4.9-12.5 (cal/cm). In some embodiments, the fluorinated monomer has a Tg &#x3c;30&#xb0; C. In some embodiments, the dried coating exhibits no blocking and no greater than 75% failure at an elongation of 100%. Also described is a conformable film comprising a dried coating composition of the coating compositions described herein, articles comprising a layer of the conformable film on a substrate, and a copolymer comprising interpolymerized units of fluorinated monomer(s), silane monomer(s); and one or more monomers having a Tg &#x2265;50&#xb0; C.

A composition is disclosed that includes fluorinated polymer and a non-fluorinated polymer. The fluorinated polymer includes first divalent units independently represented by formula and second divalent unit independently comprising a pendent cationic, anionic, amphoteric, or amine-oxide group or a pendent poly(alkyleneoxy) segment. The non-fluorinated polymer is RO-(EO)&#x2014;(RO)-(EO)&#x2014;Ror RO&#x2014;(RO)-(EO)&#x2014;(RO)&#x2014;R. A method of making the composition and methods of reducing the surface tension of a liquid and a method of treating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation are also disclosed.

Composition including a fluorinated polymer and a non-fluorinated polymer and methods of making and using the same

A composition is disclosed. The composition comprises at least one polymeric colorant having a polymer component with a colorant component covalently bound thereto, a medicament, and a liquid vehicle. The at least one colorant component does not react directly or indirectly with the medicament. Methods of using the polymeric colorants, including a method for the preparation of skin as a site for a surgical procedure and a method of treating a medical condition, are also provided.

Polymeric colorant compositions and methods of use

Adhesives suitable for use with low surface energy materials are described. The adhesive contain an acrylic copolymer, a high glass transition temperature tackifier and a low glass transition temperature tackifier. The acrylic copolymer is the reaction product of a first alkyl(meth)acrylate having at least 5 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, a second alkyl(meth)acrylate having 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, and a vinyl carboxylic acid. Both tackifiers have a Tg greater than the Tg of the acrylic copolymer. The high glass transition temperature tackifier has a Tg of at least 20&#xb0; C. and the low glass transition temperature tackifier has a Tg of less than 0&#xb0; C.

Low surface energy adhesive

Laser-personalizable security articles include a multi-layer security document and an optically transparent processing tape. The multi-layer security document includes an optically transparent cover layer, a composite image and an imagable layer adjacent to the cover layer. The first surface of the cover layer is at least partially a microstructured surface, where the microstructured surface forms microlenses or a lenticular surface. The composite image is made by a collection of complete or partial images viewed through the microstructured surface of the cover layer. The composite image is located on or within the second surface of the cover layer. The imagable layer is a laser. The optically transparent processing tape sufficiently wets out on the misconstructured surface to render the microstructured surface invisible to a writing laser.

A method for building three-dimensional articles using a thermal polymerization process in provided. The articles are built by using a composition that includes a thermally polymerizable composition, a thermal initiator, and a nonlinear light-to-heat conversion material such as a reverse saturable dye. The article is built by the sequential exposure of adjacent voxels with a laser beam. Microlens arrays can be used to expose more than one voxel at a time.
