Methods, systems, and computer storage media for detecting anomalies within nodes of a data center are provided. A self-learning system is employed to proactively and automatically detect the anomalies using one or more locally hosted agents for pulling information that describes states of a plurality of nodes (e.g., computing devices of a cloud-computing infrastructure), respectively, and using at least one early-warning mechanism for implementing a comparison technique. The comparison technique involves individually comparing the state information of the plurality of the nodes against one another and, based upon the comparison, grouping one or more nodes of the plurality of nodes into clusters that exhibit substantially similar state information. Upon identifying the clusters that include low number of nodes grouped therein, with respect to a remainder of the clusters of nodes, the members of the identified clusters are designated as anomalous machines.

Comparing node states to detect anomalies

A test system for a managed cloud computing environment may have a management system that may recruit devices in the cloud and outside the cloud to perform a test on a cloud based application. Each device may execute an agent that connects the device to several cloud services for messaging, data collection, and executable code storage. The management system may identify and gather the devices, then cause the devices to execute a test by sending commands through the messaging service. The devices may access executable code for the specific tasks of a test through the code storage service, and as the devices complete tasks for the test, the devices may publish results in the data collection service. The test system enables any type of scenario to be implemented, including operations that can only be performed inside and outside the managed cloud environment.

Test execution spanning cloud and local devices

Methods and systems for analyzing a computer program use static and interprocedural analysis techniques and engines. A data processing operation, such as a function, is automatically identified within the computer program. It is determined whether the function represents a potential source for entry of untrusted data into the computer program. A course of the untrusted data is modeled through the identified function to produce a validation result, such as a call stack. Based on an attribute of the untrusted data (for example, whether the untrusted data is an unbounded integer or a string), it is determined whether the validation result identifies a security vulnerability of the computer program. A security vulnerability may exist, for example, when the modeled course of an unbounded integer through the function produces a buffer overrun in a call stack. The validation result is provided, via an API, software development tool, or user interface, for example.

Detection of security vulnerabilities in computer programs

A computing system, which is in communication with a multimedia source and that includes at least one application for processing multimedia content from the multimedia source, includes an Application Programming Interface (API) for obtaining basic multimedia information that may be required by applications to process the multimedia content. By doing this, the invention enables multimedia application(s) to easily obtain the basic information from the API in a predetermined and standard manner, without having to obtain the information directly from the multimedia source, thereby reducing the functionality that has to be programmed directly into the application(s) for obtaining the basic information, and thereby reducing the cost, time, and resources that are required for creating the multimedia application(s).
