Antennas and MIMO antenna systems in a housing of an electronic device are described. Each of the antennas includes a first RF radiating member having a first frequency range and a second RF radiating member having a second frequency range. The first frequency range is 4-5 GHz and the second frequency range is 3-4 GHz, and each antenna has an operating frequency range of at least 3-5 GHz. A plurality of the antennas may be arranged in a housing of an electronic device to form MIMO antenna systems.

Broadband sub 6GHz massive MIMO antennas for electronic device

Antennas and MIMO antenna arrays in a housing of an electronic device are described. The MIMO antenna array includes a plurality of antennas. At least one of the antennas has operating frequency ranges of 700 MHz-900 MHz, 1700 MHz-2100 MHz, and 3 GHz-5 GHz. The MIMO antenna array may include 8 or 10 antennas.

A diversity antenna module comprising a first radiating element adapted to operate with a first transceiver circuit operating in at least one band and a second radiating element adapted to operate with a second transceiver circuit operating in at least one band. Compact radiation structure for diversity antennas

A multiple-input-multiple output antenna for use with wireless communication comprises a first element a first radiation element operable to resonate at a first frequency and a second radiation element operable to resonate at a second frequency, wherein the second frequency is not an integer multiple of the first frequency. The first and second antenna radiation elements are each proximate to a ground plane and the respective resonance frequencies of the first radiation element and the second radiation element is achieved by controlling the electrical coupling between the first radiation element, the second radiation element and the ground plane and the resonance frequencies of the first and second radiation elements is controlled independently.

An antenna assembly for a mobile wireless communication device has a support with a first surface and a second surface between which a third surface and a fourth surface extend. A conductive ground plane is formed on the second surface. An antenna includes an electrically conductive patch located on the first surface, and first and second electrically conductive legs and an electrically conductive stripe all abutting the patch. In one version the first and second legs and the strip are all on the third surface. In another version the first and second legs are on the third surface and the strip is on the fourth surface that is orthogonal to the third surface. A first signal port is adapted to apply a first signal to the first leg and a second signal port is adapted to apply a second signal to the third leg.

Multiple input, multiple output antenna for handheld communication devices

A multiple input-multiple output antenna assembly with high isolation between the antennas is disclosed. The antenna assembly includes a substrate with a ground layer at its surface. Two antennas are disposed opposing each other on the substrate. An isolation element in a form of a patterned slot is interposed between the first and second antennas on the ground plane. A first signal port is provided for applying a first signal to excite the first antenna and a second signal port is provided for applying a second signal to excite the second antenna. The isolation element provides isolation that inhibits electromagnetic propagation between the two antennas.

A multi-band antenna comprising a dielectric substrate, a ground plane formed on a first area of the dielectric substrate, a radiation part arranged in a second area of the dielectric substrate where the ground surface is not formed, a feed section formed of a metallic trace and having one end connected to the radiation part and an opposite end disposed near an edge of the ground plane for forming a feed point and the radiation part having a pair of monopole antenna elements formed of conductive metallic traces; a first monopole antenna element for radiating at a first resonant frequency, and a second monopole antenna element for radiating at a second resonant frequency and the conductive metallic traces being folded to form a three dimensional structure, with at least a portion of said first monopole spaced from a plane of the substrate and said second monopole.

Antenna for multi mode MIMO communication in handheld devices

A dual-feed port dual band (DFDB) antenna module comprising a first antenna element disposed on a first planar surface, a second antenna element disposed on a second planar surface, and a third antenna element disposed on a third planar surface. A first feed port is coupled to a first transceiver circuit adapted to operate in a first band and a second feed port is coupled to a second transceiver circuit adapted to operate in the first band and to a receiver circuit adapted to operate in a second band. Dual-feed dual band antenna assembly and associated method

A dual-antenna diversity antenna system that operates within a low frequency band range is disclosed. Two antennas are folded separately onto a single three dimensional dielectric substrate in a meander pattern configuration. Each antenna has an independent feed port and ground pin. The two antennas are configured within a compact mobile terminal to produce high isolation and low correlation at resonating frequencies within the 700 Megahertz frequency band.
