A light emitting device capable of simplifying its manufacturing process and/or suppress vacuum leakage by improving its terminal structure and a display device having the same. The light emitting device includes a first substrate assembly, a second substrate assembly, and a sealing member for bonding the first substrate assembly with the second substrate assembly. The first substrate assembly includes a first substrate main body having recess portions, first electrodes within the recess portions, electron emission regions on the first electrodes, and second electrodes at a distance away from the electron emission regions and fixed to a surface of the first substrate assembly. Here, a first portion of the second electrode including a first end portion of the second electrode is exposed out of a region surrounded by the seal member and out of the seal member and is used as a terminal connected to an external circuit.

Light emission device and display device including same

An electron emission device includes first and second substrates facing each other, an electron emission unit provided on a first surface of the first substrate, a light emission unit provided on a first surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate, and a sealing member for sealing peripheries of the first and second substrates together. The sealing member contacts a first insulation layer of the electron emission unit.

Electron emission display

A light emission device having an evaporating getter unit and a display device utilizing the light emission device as a light source. The light emission device includes a vacuum vessel having first and second substrates facing each other and a sealing member, the first and second substrates having an active area and a non-active area, an electron emission unit located on the first substrate at the active area, a light emission unit located on the second substrate at the active area, a getter unit provided between the first and second substrates at the non-active area, and a barrier disposed between the getter unit and the active area. The barrier blocks diffusion of getter material toward the active area during the getter activating process and prevents (or reduces) a slip or a movement of the getter unit.

Light emission device and display device using the light emission device as a light source

An electron emission display includes first and second substrates facing each other to form a vacuum envelope, an electron emission unit formed on the first substrate, and a light emission unit formed on the second substrate. The light emission unit includes an anode electrode formed on the second substrate and electrically connected to at least one anode terminal to receive an anode voltage from the anode terminal, and the anode terminal is arranged on a side of the first substrate external to the vacuum envelope and in parallel to the first substrate.

A side member is disposed at peripheries of the first substrate and the second substrate. A vacuum vessel includes a first substrate, a second substrate facing the first substrate and spaced apart therefrom, and support frames mounted along the edges of the first and the second substrates. At least two support frames are separately formed on at least one side of the first and the second substrates. Adhesive layers are placed on a surface of the support frame facing the first substrate as well as on the opposite-surface of the support frame facing the second substrate to attach the two substrates and the support frames to each other. A filler is disposed between the neighboring support frames to prevent the vacuum leakage.

Gate holes are formed within the respective pixels by partially removing the gate electrodes and the insulating layer. Each pixel is divided into a central pixel region and a peripheral pixel region. A field emission display device includes: a first substrate; an electron emission assembly arranged on the first substrate; a second substrate arranged a predetermined distance from the first substrate, the first and second substrates forming a vacuum space; an illumination assembly arranged on the second substrate, the illumination assembly being illuminated by electrons emitted from the electron emission assembly; and a mesh grid and above the electron emission assembly.

Field emission display including mesh grid and focusing electrode and its method of manufacture

A flat panel display having a mesh grid assembly which includes upper and lower spacers integral therein. The flat panel display includes a faceplate and a backplate provided opposing one another with a predetermined gap therebetween to define an exterior of the display. An illuminating assembly is provided in the display, the illuminating assembly realizing predetermined images. A mesh grid is provided between the backplate and the faceplate. A lower spacer is connected to a surface of the mesh grid opposing the backplate to be supported by the backplate. Upper spacers are connected to a surface of the mesh grid opposing the faceplate to be supported by the faceplate. The mesh grid, the lower spacer, and the upper spacers thereby integrally forming a single structural assembly.
