A roof airbag for a vehicle includes: an airbag cushion located at a roof panel of the vehicle and configured to be unfolded from a first side portion to a second side portion of the roof panel during an operation of the airbag cushion; a first seam portion extended in a direction intersected with an unfolded direction of the airbag cushion and allowing upper and lower surfaces of the airbag cushion to be in contact with each other; and an inflator coupled to the first side portion of the roof panel, and connected to the airbag cushion and configured to inject gas into the airbag cushion so as to allow the airbag cushion to be unfolded from the first side portion to the second side portion of the roof panel.

Roof airbag for vehicle

An airbag of a sunroof for a vehicle is proposed. The airbag includes: a roof panel for a vehicle with the sunroof; an airbag module positioned at a lower portion of the roof panel and securely coupled to the roof panel; and a head lining positioned while being spaced downward from the roof panel, and fixed to a lower portion of the airbag module.

A roof airbag apparatus may include: a cushion configured to cover a roof when deployed; a pair of guides having a length in the deployment direction of the cushion, and configured to guide both sides of the cushion in the deployment direction; and a deployment resistance reducer having a connector connected to one end of each of the guides so as to apply an elastic force from a first location toward the rear, wherein the connector is moved to a second location in a front of the first location by frictional resistance which is applied to the guide when the cushion is deployed.

A roof airbag for vehicles and a control method to deploy the roof airbag are proposed. The roof airbag, which protects occupants by minimizing reduction of internal pressure of the airbag in an accident event in which a vehicle rolls over several times in sequence, includes: a main inflator and sub-inflator which generate gas; and a controller configured to ignite the main inflator to deploy an airbag cushion when a rollover accident of a vehicle occurs, and configured to ignite the sub-inflator to increase internal pressure of the airbag cushion when a secondary accident occurs following the primary rollover accident of the vehicle.

A roof airbag apparatus may include: a deployment guide part mounted on a sunshine roof part of a vehicle; a cushion part mounted in the sunshine roof part, and deployed in a longitudinal direction of the deployment guide part; and an inflator part mounted in the cushion part, and configured to discharge gas to the cushion part in case of a collision of the vehicle.

A roof airbag apparatus may include: a first-row deployment part deployed from the front to the rear of a roof so as to cover a front area, when gas is supplied from a gas supply part; a second-row deployment part coupled to a front end of the first-row deployment part so as to communicate with the first-row deployment part, and configured to cover a rear area which is deployed to the rear when the first-row deployment part is deployed; and an auxiliary deployment part coupled to a top or bottom surface of the first-row deployment part so as to communicate with the first-row deployment part, and configured to increase/decrease the top-to-bottom thickness of the first-row deployment part, when deployed.
