A backlight assembly includes a light emitting module and a receiving container. The receiving container receives the light emitting module, and includes a first frame, a second frame and a heat dissipation channel. The first frame includes a first bottom, and first sidewalls connected to the first bottom. The second frame includes a second bottom which faces the first bottom and is sealed with the first frame. The first and second bottoms are spaced apart from each other and form the heat dissipation channel therebetween.

Backlight assembly

A method of driving light-emitting diodes (LEDs), a backlight assembly for performing the method, and a display apparatus having the backlight assembly are disclosed for various embodiments. For example, the backlight assembly includes a light source unit and a light source controller. The light source unit includes red, green, and blue LEDs generating red, green, and blue light, respectively. The light source controller detects amounts of the red, green, and blue light, respectively, to compare the actual light amount ratio of the red, green, and blue light with the reference light amount ratio. The light source controller controls the red, green, and blue LEDs, respectively, so that an actual light amount ratio becomes substantially identical to a reference light amount ratio when the actual light amount ratio is not identical to the reference light amount ratio.

Method of driving light-emitting diodes by controlling maximum amount of light and backlight assembly for performing the method

A display device includes a display panel displaying an image, a light source generating light, a light guide plate guiding the light and supplying the light to the display panel, a receiving container receiving the light source and the light guide plate, the receiving container including a sidewall portion adjacent to the light guide plate and a bottom portion extending from the sidewall portion, a photosensor coupled to the receiving container, the photosensor sensing the light, and a light receiving hole formed in the receiving container, the light receiving hole comprising a first end and a second end, the first end being closer to the light guide plate and the second end being closer to the photosensor, wherein a height of the first end is smaller than a thickness of the light guide plate, and the second end overlaps the photosensor.

Display device

A backlight assembly includes a light guiding plate and a plurality of first light sources. The light guiding plate includes a light exiting surface through which light can exit, a light guiding surface positioned opposite to the light exiting surface, and a first surface extending between the light guiding surface and the light exiting surface and inclined with respect to the light guiding surface by a first angle. The first angle is an acute angle. The first light sources can generate light, and are disposed under the light guiding plate. These first light sources are disposed adjacent to a first edge connecting the first surface with the light guiding surface.

Backlight assembly and display apparatus having the same

In a backlight assembly and a display device including the backlight assembly, the backlight assembly includes a light dispersion member and a light source having a plurality of light source members, a distance defined between the light sources members adjacent to each other. The light dispersion member includes a lower face portion having alternately arranged ridges and grooves. Each light source is positioned under a respective ridge. An interval between a center of each light source and the respective ridge positioned directly over the light source is from about 0.2 to about 0.55 times the distance.

Backlight assembly and display device having the same

In a backlight assembly and a display device having the same, the backlight assembly includes a receiving container, a light source, a reflecting member and an optical member. The receiving container includes a bottom plate and a sidewall protruded from a side of the bottom plate. The light source is received in the receiving container. The light source generates light. The reflecting member is interposed between the bottom plate and the light source. The reflecting member has a protruded portion protruded upward to support the light source. The optical member is on the light source to improve optical characteristics of the light generated from the light source.

Backlight assembly and liquid crystal display device having the same

A backlight assembly includes a receiving container including a bottom plate having a lower face and an upper face opposite the lower face, a sidewall part protruding from edge portions of the bottom plate, and a plurality of light property controlling parts disposed on the upper face and having a substantially wedge shaped cross-section. The backlight further includes a light source disposed between adjacent light property controlling parts, and the light source is received by the receiving container, wherein a distance between a center of the light source and the upper face is substantially equal to a height of at least one of the plurality of light property controlling parts. The backlight assembly may increase the brightness and brightness-uniformity of light.

A developer scattering prevention unit used with an electrophotographic image forming device includes an air inlet/outlet pipe installed adjacent to an intermediate area between an image carrier and a developer and having a first air inlet/outlet port opened toward the intermediate area, and at least one vacuum source installed on at least one of the image carrier and the developer carrier to communicate with the air inlet/outlet pipe to control air to flow from the intermediate area through the first air inlet/outlet port. A developing device having this developer scattering prevention function becomes simplified in structure.
