A fusing unit is formed along a printing path in an image forming apparatus and fuses an image transferred to a printing medium. The fusing unit includes: a heat source; a nip plate which is heated by the heat source, and includes a nip part to heat and press the printing medium; and a reflection member to reflect heat generated by the heat source toward the nip part. A belt member is rotatably provided about the heat source, the nip plate and the reflection member, and guides the movement of the printing medium. A driving roller faces the nip part and rotatably drives the belt member. The nip plate and the driving roller form a fusing nip, which quickly heats and provides for quick fusing of a toner image to a printing medium.

Fusing unit and image forming apparatus using the same

A fusing unit of an image forming apparatus includes a first rotating member which heats toner applied to a printing medium, a heatable member to heat the first rotating member, which is disposed to be independent of rotation of the first rotating member and which is heatable by an induction current, a pressing member which presses the first rotating member, and an induction heating part which is disposed inside the pressing member, which induces the induction current to the heatable member.

Fusing unit having a high thermal efficiency and image forming apparatus including the same

A heating roller assembly for an image forming apparatus. The heating roller assembly includes a heating roller pipe having a heating layer around which a coil is wound. The heating layer has a coil winding structure such that first portions 'A' formed adjacent to bearings for rotatably supporting the heat roller pipe have a lower thermal temperature than that of second portions 'B' formed adjacent to the first portions A. The first portions A serve as a heat absorber to minimize the fusing heat loss at the beginning of a fusing process, and even if the fusing process continues for a long time, the heat absorber can prevent the opposite ends of the heating roller, where the bearings are disposed, from overheating. Accordingly, a more accurate pickup operation is achieved and a stable quality of image can be guaranteed.

Heating roller assembly for image forming apparatus

A heating roller includes an exterior aluminum pipe preferably coated with a Teflon layer. A primer layer is disposed inside the exterior aluminum pipe. An outer insulating layer is disposed inside the primer layer. A heating coil is disposed inside the outer insulating layer. An inner insulating layer is disposed inside the heating coil. An aluminum interior pipe is disposed inside the inner insulating layer, and has a predetermined expandability. The heating roller is used as an image fixing unit for fixing a developed image on a recording medium while being pressed by a pressing roller at a predetermined pressure.

Heating roller and image fixing apparatus using the same

The fixing unit includes a heat roller including a heat source therein, one or more pressing rollers in close contact with the heat roller, an elastic body to elastically apply pressure on both ends of the one or more pressing rollers with respect to the heat roller, a backup member to contact a central portion of the one or more pressing rollers and to apply pressure to the central portion in a longitudinal direction of the one or more pressing rollers, and a backup elastic body to elastically press the backup member towards the heat roller.
