An air conditioner, a control device thereof, and a method of controlling the same are provided. The air conditioner includes a control device including a plurality of indoor unit operation changers, and an indoor unit connected to any one of the plurality of indoor unit operation changers, where at least one of the indoor unit and the control device determines an operation mode of each of the plurality of indoor unit operation changers respectively connected to a plurality of indoor units, detects an indoor unit operation changer at an operation mode corresponding to an operation of any one of the plurality of indoor units among the plurality of indoor unit operation changers, and determines an indoor unit operation changer connected to the indoor unit among the plurality of indoor unit operation changers on based on a result of detecting at least one of the indoor unit operation changers.

Air conditioner, control device thereof, and method of controlling the same

An air conditioner includes an indoor fan motor driven according to a signal to control the indoor fan motor by a controller, and a controller that resets a reference value of a rated air flow rate according to the pre-set conditions by checking an indoor fan motor driving voltage when an indoor fan motor RPM reaches a reference value of a strong wind mode while the air conditioner operates in strong wind mode. The controller compares the checked indoor fan motor driving voltage with a reference indoor fan motor driving voltage of the rated air flow rate, and resets the reference value when the checked indoor fan motor driving voltage is different from the reference indoor fan motor driving voltage of the rated air flow rate.

Air conditioner and method of controlling the same

A multi-type air conditioning apparatus including an outdoor unit, indoor units, and a communication line, each of the outdoor unit and the indoor units including a communicator transmitting/receiving data through the communication line and a controller transmitting at least one preamble signal, including priority information to transmit the data using the communication line, through the communication line, and transmitting the data through the communication line when transmission of the at least one preamble signal has been completed. In the multi-type air conditioning apparatus, each of the outdoor unit and the indoor units selects a priority set time, transmits a preamble signal after the selected priority set time has elapsed, and delays data transmission when a preamble signal transmitted by another constituent unit is sensed during the priority set time, thus avoiding collision on the communication line and rapidly occupying the communication line.
