The donor comprises a main chain of an organic polymer and a side chain that is covalently linked to the main chain and has a diazeniumdiolate functional group. The donor for controlled release of nitric monoxide exists in a fluid state such as liquid at room temperature and undergoes a sol-to-gel phase transition at a physiological pH as the temperature increases above the critical temperature. The present invention relates to an intelligent porous biodegradable polymer scaffold for in situ tissue regeneration in which two kinds of physiologically active substances having high differentiation potential and biocompatibility are introduced into the polymer scaffold and conjugated to the surface thereof, respectively, and a method for the preparation thereof. Since the intelligent porous biodegradable polymer scaffold exhibits improved biocompatibility and differentiation potential due to the introduction of physiologically active substances capable of efficiently inducing cell proliferation and differentiation into both the surface and the inside thereof, it can directly induce in situ tissue regeneration of the musculoskeletal system from stem cells in a living tissue after transplanting the polymer scaffold and stem cells into a human body without additional in vitro cultivation. Therefore, the intelligent porous biodegradable polymer scaffold according to the present invention can be effectively used in the regeneration of various kinds of tissues and organs including the musculoskeletal system.

Method of preparing covered porous biodegradable polymer microspheres for sustained-release drug delivery and tissue regeneration

There is provided a method of preparing biodegradable dual pore polymer scaffolds, comprising the steps of: maintaining a polymer solution containing a biodegradable polymer, an effervescent mixture of carbonate and organic acid, and solvent at a temperature range of &#x2212;196&#xb0; C. to ambient temperature so as to evaporate the solvent and produce a polymer sample; and foaming the polymer sample in a mixed solution of water and alcohol. According to the present invention, the pore size of the polymer scaffolds can be easily controlled, and biodegradable polymer scaffolds can be more simply prepared compared to conventional methods such as salt leaching technique, phase separation technique or gas foaming technique. Further, since the biodegradable polymer scaffolds prepared according to the present invention have a high surface area and porosity without formation of skin layer, secretion of toxic substances and remnant phenomenon, they can be advantageously used for regenerating almost all living tissues and organs in tissue engineering.

The present invention refers to dental self-curing resin compositions having enhanced mechanical and physical properties. In particular, the present invention relates to dental self-curing resin compositions consisting of (i) a Paste A composition containing the multifunctional prepolymer mixture of 2,2-bis-[4-(2-hydroxy-3-methacryloxypropoxy)phenyl]propane ('Bis-GMA') and multifunctional prepolymer formed by substituting hydrogen atoms in hydroxyl group with methacrylate groups in the Bis-GMA molecules, and further containing a diluent, an adhesive monomer, a polymerization initiator, a polymerization inhibitor, a light stabilizer, an antioxidant, an inorganic pigment and an inorganic filler; and ii) a Paste B composition containing the same prepolymer mixture in the Paste A composition, and further containing a diluent, an adhesive monomer, a reductant, a polymerization inhibitor, a light stabilizer, an antioxidant, an inorganic pigment and an inorganic filler. The composition according to the present invention has better physical and mechanical properties than that of conventional compositions and is an ointment-ointment system able to be conveniently used.

A method for modifying surface of biodegradable porous polymer scaffold for tissue engineering using a low temperature plasma discharge apparatus, and particularly, a method for inducing the biodegradable porous polymer scaffold to be hydrophilic by graft polymerizing a hydrophilic monomer on the surface of the biodegradable porous polymer scaffold, which is made of polylactic acid, polyglycolic acid or poly(lactic acid-glycolic acid) copolymer, using a low temperature plasma. The surface-modified porous polymer scaffold according to the present invention has an enhanced cell compatibility in cell culture in vitro, and promote tissue growth when the cell is transplanted into a body.
