An apparatus and method for storing digital broadcast data in a digital broadcast receiving terminal. If the digital broadcast receiving terminal enters a weak electric field strength region during reception of digital broadcast data, digital broadcast receiving terminal stops the process of receiving the digital broadcast data so as to check whether digital broadcast receiving terminal re-enters again into the strong electric field strength region. Then, if the digital broadcast receiving terminal re-enters the strong electric field region, the terminal shifts a TS value of a received digital broadcast data frame to the value obtained by adding a frame interval of the digital broadcast data frames to the TS value of the previous data frame that had been completely stored just before the digital broadcast receiving terminal entered the weak electric field strength region. Thus, the invention enables the digital broadcast receiving terminal to drop the digital broadcast data frames received during the weak electric field strength intervals so that it may smoothly and continuously play back the digital broadcast data frames received only during the strong electric field strength intervals.

Apparatus and method for storing digital broadcast data

Disclosed is an apparatus and a method for automatically changing the broadcast channel for a mobile communication terminal adapted to receive digital multimedia broadcasts. The apparatus includes a memory unit for storing an adjacent area database and an area-wise broadcast channel database; a search unit for searching for broadcast channels and receiving broadcasts; and a control unit for determining the received field strength of at least one adjacent area frequency based on the adjacent area database during digital multimedia broadcast playback, and when a predetermined threshold is exceeded, determining that a movement into a corresponding adjacent area is occurring, the control unit controlling the search unit to search through broadcast channels of the adjacent area in the area-wise broadcast channel database to find a broadcast channel identical to a broadcast channel used for playback before the movement into the adjacent area.

Apparatus and method for automatically changing broadcast channel for mobile communication terminal adapted to receive digital multimedia broadcast

A method, apparatus and system for Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) service are provided. A DMB receiving terminal identifies a channel service area in which the DMB receiving terminal is currently located based on an identified current location, and configures a channel information list by searching only a frequency band corresponding to the channel service area. When the channel service area is changed, the DMB receiving terminal searches a pre-stored connection channel list, and identifies a predetermined channel established as a transition channel corresponding to a channel which the DMB receiving terminal has received, from channels belonging to the changed channel service area. The DMB receiving terminal then receives the identified channel and provides terrestrial DMB service, thereby reducing a channel search time period and smoothly providing the terrestrial DMB service.
