Upon detecting a touch input for selecting, at least one content is selected. Upon detecting a touch input on a transmission button on the application screen, the selected content is transmitted to an external terminal. In another example method, an application screen having at least one icon for executing function is displayed; a touch input for selecting an icon associated with content to be received from an external terminal is detected; at least one identifier broadcast by the external terminal is displayed; and content is received from the external terminal corresponding to the selected identifier, upon detection of a touch input for selecting at least one identifier.

An electronic device includes a display configured to display at least one content, a pressure sensor configured to sense a touch input having a pressure value of a specified value or more, a memory, and a processor operatively connected to the display, the pressure sensor, and the memory. When the touch input occurs in a first screen of the display, the processor is configured to determine an input location of the touch input, to verify content displayed at a display location of the first screen corresponding to the input location, to create a widget including information associated with the content, and to output the created widget to a second screen of the display.

A method and apparatus for controlling content using a graphical object in a mobile terminal are provided, in which the user may create a graphical object on the screen through touch input and easily apply various actions such as copy, delete, move, transfer, attribute change and compress to content items by means of the created graphical object.
