An air conditioner includes an outdoor unit, a plurality of mode change devices including at least one mode changer including a branch duct and a changing valve, and configured to receive a control signal from the outdoor unit to control an operation of the at least one mode changer. A plurality of indoor units are connected to the outdoor unit or the plurality of mode change devices. The outdoor unit may determine an operation mode to operate the plurality of mode change devices a plurality of times. Each of the plurality of indoor units may detect a temperature change of an indoor heat exchanger in response to the operation of the mode change devices, to determine the number of connected mode changers and a connectable mode changer candidate group based on the temperature change of the indoor heat exchanger.

Air conditioner and method of controlling the same

An air conditioner, a control device thereof, and a method of controlling the same are provided. The air conditioner includes a control device including a plurality of indoor unit operation changers, and an indoor unit connected to any one of the plurality of indoor unit operation changers, where at least one of the indoor unit and the control device determines an operation mode of each of the plurality of indoor unit operation changers respectively connected to a plurality of indoor units, detects an indoor unit operation changer at an operation mode corresponding to an operation of any one of the plurality of indoor units among the plurality of indoor unit operation changers, and determines an indoor unit operation changer connected to the indoor unit among the plurality of indoor unit operation changers on based on a result of detecting at least one of the indoor unit operation changers.

Air conditioner, control device thereof, and method of controlling the same

An air conditioner includes a heat exchanger including a refrigerant tube, a fin assembly, and a fan assembly located at an upper portion of the heat exchanger. The heat exchanger includes a first heat exchanger adjacent to the fan assembly and a second heat exchanger under the first heat exchanger. A density of a fin assembly at the first heat exchanger is larger than that of a fin assembly at the second heat exchanger. The heat exchanger may include a plurality of layers with a refrigerant introduced into each of inlet pipes of the heat exchanger flowing evenly at each of the layers. The refrigerant to be discharged to each of outlet pipes is discharged at the same temperature.

Air conditioner having an improved outdoor unit

An output driving device prevents an inflow of external current through an output terminal even when there is no power supply. The output driving device includes an output circuit that maintains an output terminal at a low impedance state by receiving a supply of power in an output drive operation and maintains the output terminal at a high impedance state by receiving the supply of power in a non-output drive operation and a leakage prevention unit coupled to the output terminal of the output circuit, the leakage prevention unit preventing a current inflow to the output circuit through the output terminal when the supply of power is not supplied to the output circuit.

Output driving device in semiconductor device

A semiconductor integrated circuit having a switching variable resistance device with combined functions of a switching device and a variable resistance device is provided. The semiconductor integrated circuit includes a supply voltage input terminal that receives a supply voltage, a pulse generating unit that receives an input pulse and generates a variable amplitude pulse in response to the input pulse during a period of time, and a switching variable resistance unit that controls a current flowing into the supply voltage input terminal in response to the variable amplitude pulse, thereby limiting an inrush current and thus substantially reducing an temporary unstable effect on the supply voltage, which may be supplied from a power source.
