Provided is a washing machine including a main body having a first inlet, a drum arranged inside the main body to accommodate laundry, and a door configured to open and close the first inlet, wherein the door includes a second inlet to allow laundry to be introduced into the drum while the first inlet closed, an auxiliary door configured to open and close the second inlet, and a restraining device configured to restrain the auxiliary door such that the auxiliary door remains locked onto the door, and the main body includes a pressing device arranged inside the main body and configured to press the restraining device such that the restraining device locks the auxiliary door and to release from the retraining device such that the restraining device unlocks the auxiliary door.

Washing machine

A washing machine in which a first main heater is not driven while wash water stored in a first tub and wash water stored in a second tub are simultaneously heated, and a method of controlling the same. A washing machine includes: a first tub configured to store wash water; a first main heater configured to heat wash water stored in the first tub; a first sub heater configured to heat wash water stored in the first tub; a second tub configured to store wash water; and a second heater configured to heat wash water stored in the second tub, wherein a power consumption required to drive the first main heater is greater than a power consumption required to drive the first sub heater, and the first main heater is not driven while wash water stored in the first tube and wash water stored in the second tub are simultaneously heated.

Washing machine and method of controlling the same

A washing machine and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The washing machine includes a plurality of washing devices, each of which includes a heater. Based on a target temperature of wash water heated by one heater of any one of the washing devices, the washing machine changes a target temperature setting environment of wash water heated by the remaining heater. The washing machine includes a first heater to heat wash water stored in a first tub, a second heater to heat wash water stored in a second tub, a control panel to provide a target temperature setting menu for setting a target temperature of the wash water stored in the first tub, and a controller to drive the first heater and the second heater. The controller changes the target temperature setting menu supplied from the control panel in response to the second target temperature.

The dryer comprises: a body having a first opening disposed at one side thereof; a first drum rotatably disposed in the body and including a first drying chamber connected to the first opening; a first hot-air unit for supplying hot air to the inside of the first drum; a first door coupled to the body to open or close the first opening; a second drum disposed at the first door; and a second hot-air unit for supplying hot air to the inside of the second drum.

In a washing machine having a door locking device that allows a door to keep an opening closed, the door locking device includes a latch configured to move in a first direction to restrict the door and move in a second direction, which is opposite the first direction, to release the restriction on the door and a locker configured to limit movement of the latch in the second direction. By such a configuration, the door can be opened/closed, restricted, and opened using a single device.
