A head-end system for terrestrial broadcast based on a virtualized broadcast framework includes a media configured to store a broadcast head-end virtualized component (BHVC) corresponding to all pieces of software related to a head-end device for transmission of ATSC 3.0 terrestrial broadcast, a plurality of worker nodes configured to transfer data to an exciter of a transmitting station by installing the BHVC stored in the media and performing a function of a typical head-end, and a mater node configured to monitor the plurality of worker nodes while storing and managing a container for installing the BHVC stored in the media in the worker nodes, and thus, modularizes a series of functions related to broadcast transmission in software units and effectively provides a broadcast service in a public or private cloud environment with departing from a broadcast device based on hardware or dedicated software.

Head-end system for terrestrial broadcast based on virtualized broadcast frame work

A block-matching motion estimation apparatus in the form of linear systolic array architecture. The apparatus includes a selecting unit for inputting data of a reference block and other data to delay the data of the reference data and selectively outputting the data; a delaying unit having P-1 delay elements where the first delay element delays and outputs an output of the selecting unit and the second to (P-1)-th delay elements delay and output outputs of just front delay element, respectively, the P-1 delay element being connected in serial; and a mean absolute difference operating unit for simultaneously inputting data of a search area to each pipe by connecting in parallel P pipes where operation elements are disposed in a linear systolic array architecture, and then calculating a value of mean absolute difference in each of the search areas by inputting outputs of the selecting unit, the first delay element, and the (P-1)-th delay element to the first pipe, the second pipe, and the (P-th) pipe, respectively.

Block-matching motion estimation apparatus under use of linear systolic

The present invention relates to an apparatus for simultaneously estimating a set of frame-to-frame motions between two frames and a set of field-to-field motions between two fields. The apparatus for simultaneously estimating both a set of frame-to-frame motions and a set of field-to-field motions, comprises: a first delay unit 1 for delaying a set of search area data of a first frame of the frames; a selection unit 3 for selecting a set of current reference data of a second frame of the frames or a set of previous reference data of the second frame; a motion estimation unit 4 for calculating a mean absolute difference between an output of a selection unit 3 and an output of the first delay unit 1; a second delay unit 2 for delaying a feedback reference data from the motion estimation unit 4; and a comparator 5 for receiving an output from the a motion estimation unit 4 and employing a mean absolute difference for each of the fields to produce a mean absolute difference, a motion vector and a prediction direction for each of the fields, and to produce a mean absolute difference and a motion vector for each of sets of the reference data contained in the second frame.
