A suction nozzle for use in a vacuum cleaner includes a suction opening through which air is drawn in from a surface to be cleaned, a sterilization chamber having at least one inlet and at least one outlet, the sterilization chamber being in fluid communication with the suction opening through the at least one inlet, and a sterilization unit disposed in the sterilization chamber to sterilize the air drawn into the sterilization chamber. The air drawn into the sterilization chamber revolves while moving from the at least one inlet to the at least one outlet.

Suction nozzle-hanging apparatus for use in vacuum cleaner

A suction port assembly and vacuum cleaner having the same is disclosed. The suction port assembly includes a casing comprising a suction port which draws in dust from a surface being cleaned; a drum brush which is disposed rotatably in the casing, on an external surface of which a plurality of bristles are arranged to shake off dust from the surface being cleaned; and a rib which is disposed at a position close to the drum brush, is mounted in the casing so that its one end is in contact with the bristles, and detaches the dust from the bristles when the drum brush rotates; and wherein the bristles are contacted on a slant relative to the rib to prevent the drum brush from rotating when the casing is pulled towards a user.

A suction brush for a vacuum cleaner is provided. The suction brush includes an upper casing; a lower casing; an elevating plate installed between the upper casing and the lower casing; a cleaned surface sensing part for sensing; a lever rotatably provided around a rotating shaft that is parallel to the elevating plate; and a solenoid. The solenoid rotates the lever in one direction when the surface to be cleaned is the hard floor and rotates the lever in the other direction when the surface to be cleaned is the carpet. The lower casing contacts the surface to be cleaned as the elevating plate descends, while it comes apart from the surface to be cleaned as the elevating plate ascends.

A nozzle assembly of a vacuum cleaner is disclosed. The nozzle assembly includes a nozzle assembly body having an air inlet and an air outlet, a drum brush unit disposed in the nozzle assembly body in the vicinity of the air inlet, and having a drum brush disposed to brush away dirt or dust adhered to a surface to be cleaned while coming in rotation contact therewith, and a movable brush unit disposed in at least one of the front and the rear of the air inlet on an undersurface of the nozzle assembly body to pivot in an opposite direction to a moving direction of the nozzle assembly body thus to change a contacting angle to the surface to be cleaned in the range of a predetermined angle and then to brush away dirt or dust adhered to the surface to be cleaned, in moving of the nozzle assembly body.
