Disclosed are a scanning apparatus, a mobile apparatus, and a scan job performing method thereof. The scan job performing method includes discovering at least one mobile apparatus supporting the scan-to-mobile function by using multicasting by the scanning apparatus, receiving information on at least one discovered mobile apparatus, setting a connection between the scanning apparatus and the mobile apparatus by using the received information of the mobile apparatus, and transmitting a scan image generated by the scanning apparatus to the mobile apparatus. With this configuration, authentication and connection between the scanning apparatus and the mobile apparatus are set by multicasting to thereby improve user's convenience.

Scanning apparatus, mobile apparatus, and scan job performing method thereof

A scan system is provided. The system includes a server device having at least one scanner driver and a user terminal device which accesses the server device and receives a scanner list, and if a scanner is selected from the scanner list, transfers scanner information about the selected scanner to the server device. The server device may control the scanner to process a scan job, by using a scanner driver corresponding to the scanner information transferred from the user terminal device. Accordingly, the user can use scan service easily by using one scan application, without having to install scan application for each of the scanners at the user terminal device.

A host device and a driver management method of the host device are provided. The driver management method of the host device includes searching for at least one image scanning device connected to the host device, displaying a list of the at least one image scanning device found as a result of searching, selecting one of the at least one image scanning device from the displayed list, generating a user-specified driver for the selected image scanning device, and adding the generated user-specified driver. Therefore, it is possible to simplify the use of a universal image scanning device driver.

The method to share favorite image reading apparatuses of a host apparatus includes registering at least one of searched image reading apparatuses to a list of favorite image reading apparatuses; selecting at least one of the registered favorite image reading apparatuses to be shared; activating a sharing function to share the selected favorite image reading apparatus; transmitting the list of favorite image reading apparatuses to or receiving a list of favorite image reading apparatuses from another host apparatus of which the sharing function is activated. Therefore, a universal driver may share a list of favorite image reading apparatuses.

Host apparatus and method to share favorite image reading apparatuses thereof

A method for controlling the host apparatus includes searching for at least one image reading apparatus being connected to the host apparatus; displaying a list of image reading apparatuses using the first information of the searched at least one image reading apparatus; selecting one of the at least image reading apparatus from the displayed list of image reading apparatuses; displaying a user interface (UI) for selecting a scanning option which includes the second information of the selected image reading apparatus using the second information corresponding to the selected image reading apparatus; and controlling the selected image reading apparatus to perform a scanning operation according to the scanning option which is input through the UI for selecting a scanning option. Accordingly, a plurality of image reading apparatuses are controlled by a single universal driver without the need of installing driver programs for each of the image reading apparatuses.
