Disclosed is a signal processing method and apparatus in MIMO system. In a mobile communication system having a plurality of transmitting antennas, the present invention includes the steps of receiving a feedback signal including status information of at least one channel, segmenting one of the first data blocks to segment into at least one or more of the second data blocks, attaching a CRC to each of the at least one or more of the second data blocks, allocating the at least one or more second data blocks to a plurality of the transmitting antennas, respectively, and transmitting the at least one or more of the second data blocks. In a mobile communication system having a plurality of receiving antennas, the present invention includes the steps of receiving at least one data block including a CRC or dummy bits, acquiring channel status information using the CRC or dummy bits, and transmitting the channel status information.

Signal processing method in MIMO system and apparatus thereof

A closed-loop STTD system extended from an open-loop STTD system adopting four antennas transmission diversity technique and its signal transmitting method are disclosed. The signal transmitting method in a closed-loop space-time transmit diversity (STTD) system having a plurality of transmission antennas, includes: space-time coding symbols to be transmitted; classifying the coded symbols to certain groups; and multiplying different weight values to each transmission symbol group and transmitting them.

Space-time transmit diversity (STTD) for multiple antennas in radio communications

An adaptive beamforming method for an antenna array is provided in which an array output is calculated based on a weight vector , which is determined from an eigenvector corresponding to a maximum eigenvalue&lgr; of a generalized eigenvalue problem consisting of autocovariance matrixes and of received signal vectors and , respectively. The present invention dramatically decreases the total computation requirements by omitting complex matrix operations from the weight vector calculation, thereby making it possible to reduce the weight vector calculation time so as to form the beam pattern for the array antenna system in real time.
