In a method of operating a system-on-chip (SOC), the SOC includes a plurality of processor cores. An operating frequency of the plurality of processor cores is set to a first operating frequency based on permitted power consumption of the SOC and an operating status of the plurality of processor cores. The first operating frequency is within a maximum operating frequency of the plurality of processor cores. At least one of the plurality of processor cores performs at least one processing operation based on the first operating frequency. When present power consumption of the SOC is determined as exceeding the permitted power consumption, a warning signal is activated, and a first control operation for reducing the present power consumption is performed immediately thereafter.

The photosensitive paste composition prevents electrical or optical crosstalk between adjacent discharge cells to achieve better contrast. The fundamental prevention of the gelation of the paste composition permits the paste composition to have good storage stability.

A photosensitive paste composition is provided. The photosensitive paste composition contains conductive powder, an inorganic binder, and an organic vehicle, wherein, assuming that 10% by weight of the particles consisting the conductive powder have a diameter less than Dand 90% by weight of the particles have a diameter greater than D, a difference between Dand Dis about 2.0 &#x3bc;m or less. A digital subscriber line (DSL) receiver includes a discrete multitone (DMT) receiver circuit operative to receive a DSL signal and to generate signal samples corresponding to respective frequency division multiplexed tones of the DSL signal. The receiver further includes a synchronization circuit operative to determine phase information for a crosstalk source indication signal, e.g., an integrated services digital network (ISDN) timing reference indication signal, carried by one of the plurality of frequency-division multiplexed tones from the signal samples generated by the DMT receiver circuit and to determine frame timing for the DSL signal responsive to the determined phase information. The DMT receiver circuit may include a buffer operative to receive and store samples of the DSL signal, and a fast Fourier transformer (EFT) operative to generate the signal samples for the respective ones of the plurality of frequency-division multiplexed tones from the stored samples of the DSL signal. The synchronization circuit may be operative to control transfer of stored samples of the DSL signal from the buffer to the FFT responsive to the determined phase information.

DSL receivers for TCM-ISDN environments and methods of operating same

An oxide cathode for an electron tube and a method for manufacturing the oxide cathode are provided. In the oxide cathode including a sleeve for a heater, a metal substrate formed on the top of the sleeve, and an electron emission material layer coated on the metal substrate, the electron emission material layer is formed by coating a carbonate paste containing an alkaline earth metal carbonate, an organic blowing agent, and a vehicle on the metal substrate by screen printing, and thermally treating the coated carbonate paste. Picture quality degradation due to a Moire phenomenon is reduced by coating the carbonate paste by screen printing to provide an even cathode surface, and degradation of the cathode by Joule heat is reduced, thereby improving electron emission and lifespan characteristics of the cathode.

The present invention provides a cold cathode electron source and a method for manufacturing the cold cathode electron source. The cold cathode electron source includes a substrate on which are deposited a catalyst metal layer, an insulation layer, and a gate metal layer; a cavity section formed through the catalyst metal layer, the insulation layer, and the gate metal layer; and an emitter realized through a plurality of carbon nanotubes, which are grown from walls of the catalyst metal layer exposed in the cavity section and which have long axes parallel to the substrate. The method includes depositing a catalyst metal layer, an insulation layer, and a gate metal layer on a substrate; forming a cavity section by removing a portion of the gate metal layer, the insulation layer, and the catalyst metal layer using a photolithography process; and forming an emitter by mounting the substrate on a chemical vapor deposition reactor and growing carbon nanotubes in a low temperature atmosphere of 500&#x2dc;800 degrees Celsius (&#xb0; C.).

A cathode for an electron tube and a preparing method therefor are provided. In the cathode for an electron tube having a base metal and an electron-emitting material layer, the particle size of the micro structure of the surface of the base metal is controlled to be in the range of 3 to 50 &mgr;m. The cathode for an electron tube has an excellent effect of diffusing intermediate products generated during the operation of the cathode, and is capable of consistently supplying a diffusion path of a reducing agent. Also, the cut off drift rate can be reduced, thereby attaining a long life span characteristic.

Method of making a cathode for an electron tube

Disclosed is a shadow mask for a cathode ray tube (CRT) and a method of manufacturing the same. The shadow mask includes a solid solution hardening material and a precipitation hardening material. The method includes the steps of heat treating a metallic plate having a plurality of apertures formed therein using a carburizing gas, and press-forming the metallic plate into a shadow mask shape.
