A display device includes a substrate; at least one data line disposed on the substrate; a first pattern disposed on the substrate and spaced apart from the data line; a first insulating layer at least partially disposed on the data line and the first pattern; an active layer disposed on the first insulating layer and at least partially overlapping with the first pattern; a first gate insulating layer disposed on the active layer; and a first electrode disposed on the first gate insulating layer and overlapping with the active layer, wherein the first electrode does not overlap with the data line in a direction parallel to an upper surface of the first insulating layer.

An optical device for realizing augmented reality comprises a lens comprising a first surface and side surfaces, a display device disposed on a first side surface among the side surfaces of the lens and displaying a first image in a first area and a second image in a second area, a first reflector disposed in the lens and reflecting the first image incident on the first side surface of the lens to the first surface, a second reflector disposed in the lens and reflecting the second image incident on the first side surface of the lens to the first surface, a first condenser disposed between the lens and the first area of the display device and focusing the first image on the first reflector, and a second condenser disposed between the lens and the second area of the display device and focusing the second image on the second reflector.

Optical device

A display apparatus may include a base substrate, an active pattern, a first electrode, a second electrode, a control electrode, and a display element. The active pattern may be disposed on the base substrate. The first electrode may be disposed between the base substrate and the active pattern and connected to a first end of the active pattern. The second electrode may be disposed on the active pattern and connected to a second end of the active pattern. The control electrode may overlap the active pattern and be insulated from the active pattern. The display element may be disposed on the second electrode and connected to the second electrode.

Display device and method of fabricating the same

A curved liquid crystal display including a first curved substrate; a second curved substrate; a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules having negative dielectric anisotropy, the liquid crystal layer being interposed between the first and second curved substrates; a first curved liquid crystal alignment layer interposed between the liquid crystal layer and the first curved substrate; and a second curved liquid crystal alignment layer interposed between the liquid crystal layer and the second curved substrate. The second curved liquid crystal alignment layer has an average value of surface roughness values greater than an average value of surface roughness values of the first curved liquid crystal alignment layer.

Curved liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display device includes: first and second substrates facing each other and including a plurality of pixels; a liquid crystal layer between the first and second substrates and including a liquid crystal mixture. The first substrate includes a pixel electrode in each pixel. The pixel electrode includes a stem electrode extending in a first direction and a second direction in a cross shape and dividing the pixel into first to fourth domains; and branch electrodes disposed in the first to fourth domains and extending from the stem electrode in a tilted direction to the first and second directions. The branch electrodes disposed in two adjacent domains extend to have angles different from each other with respect to the first direction and the second direction. The liquid crystal mixture includes liquid crystals, and a dopant which adjusts a pitch of the liquid crystals.

Liquid-crystal display device

A liquid crystal display includes: a first panel including a first electrode; a second panel including a second electrode; and a liquid crystal layer between the first and second panels. The first electrode includes: a central electrode disposed in a central region of a pixel; an outer electrodes extending along a side of the central electrode; and a connection electrode which connects the outer electrode and the central electrode. A slit pattern is defined in the first electrode around the central electrode, and a liquid crystal control pattern is defined in the first electrode in a corner region of the pixel. Horizontal and vertical incisions, which divide the first electrode into a plurality of domains, are defined in the second electrode, an end portion of the outer electrode is disposed to correspond to the corner region, and the end portion of the outer electrode extends farther than the central electrode.

A curved liquid crystal display is provided. The curved liquid crystal display includes: a first curved substrate; a second curved substrate; a liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules having negative dielectric anisotropy, the liquid crystal layer being interposed between the first and second curved substrates; a first curved liquid crystal alignment layer interposed between the liquid crystal layer and the first curved substrate; and a second curved liquid crystal alignment layer interposed between the liquid crystal layer and the second curved substrate. The first curved liquid crystal alignment layer includes protrusions protruded toward the second curved liquid crystal alignment layer. The second curved liquid crystal alignment layer includes protrusions protruded toward the first curved liquid crystal alignment layer. An average number of the protrusions on the second curved liquid crystal alignment layer is greater than an average number of protrusions on the first curved liquid crystal alignment layer.

A display device includes: a substrate; a gate line disposed on the substrate and extending in a first direction; a data line insulated from the gate line and extending in a second direction intersecting the first direction; a pixel electrode disposed in a pixel region defined by the gate line and the data line; a source electrode connected to the data line; a drain electrode spaced apart from the source electrode; and a color filter layer disposed on the data line, the source electrode, and the drain electrode. The color filter layer includes: a first contact hole exposing the drain electrode, and a second contact hole disposed over at least one of the source electrode and the drain electrode. The pixel electrode is disposed on the color filter layer and is connected to the drain electrode through the first contact hole.
