Provided is a planar inverted F antenna including a ground surface having a finite plane and formed of a conductive material, an antenna body at a certain distance from the ground surface and transmitting and receiving radio waves, a feed line for electrically connecting the ground surface and the antenna body, a ground pin for grounding the antenna body to the ground surface, and at least one auxiliary plate disposed between the antenna body and the ground surface. Therefore, it is possible to readily overcome design restrictions of the antenna in keeping with the slimming and miniaturization of mobile communication terminals by installing the auxiliary plate between the ground surface and the antenna body.

A portable wireless terminal with a main body having a main board, and a battery pack detachably mounted in the main body and used as power supply means for the terminal, wherein the battery pack includes an upper case frame; a lower case frame coupled with the upper case frame to provide a predetermined installation space therebetween; a battery cell having a conductive outer surface fixed on the installation space; and a radiator fixed to an inner surface of the upper case frame, and having a feed pin and a ground pin that are exposed on the lower case frame along a detour route around the battery cell. Since the radiator is not installed inside the main body but inside the battery pack, an antenna mounting space can be removed from the main body, which contributes to a slim profile and a lightweight feature of the wireless terminal.

Disclosed herein is an antenna device for a mobile phone having a body housing, a sliding housing for sliding up or down lengthwise along the body housing, a sliding module for connecting the sliding housing to the body housing in the manner that allows the sliding housing to slide up or down, and a main antenna device in the sliding housing. In the antenna device for the mobile phone, at least one sub-antenna device is installed lengthwise facing the sliding module and is electrically connected to or separated from the body housing, slidingly approaching or moving away from the body housing along with the sliding module, and at least one connection unit electrically connects the sub-antenna device to the body housing for signal transmission between the sub-antenna device and the body housing.

Antenna device for a mobile phone

Disclosed herein is an antenna device for use with a portable wireless terminal having a main body, and a sub-body slidably coupled thereto, with a first antenna mounted in the main body and a second antenna mounted on the sub-body. The second antenna is selectively exposed to the outside as the sub-body moves slidingly on the main body. Conventional sliding-type terminals incorporate an antenna device in its main body that is interfered with by user body parts, thereby causing deteriorated performance. The antenna device of the present invention improves performance by using an additional second antenna mounted on the sub-body of the terminal to improve transmitting/receiving signal quality of the terminal. Furthermore, as such an antenna device is incorporated inside a sliding-type terminal or a pop-up type terminal, it is possible to eliminate risk of damage and to diversify the design of the terminal.
