Topically applicable, non-pilling UV-photoprotecting cosmetic/dermatological sunscreen compositions, advantageously alcoholic sunscreen gels, well suited for UV-photoprotecting human skin and/or hair against the damaging and deleterious effects of ultraviolet irradiation, contain an effective amount of at least one UV-A and/or UV-B screening agent and an effective non-pilling amount of an acrylates/Calkylmethacrylate copolymer, preferably a tetrapolymer of methacrylic acid, methyl methacrylate, butyl acrylate and cetyl-eicosinyl methacrylate, formulated into a topically applicable, cosmetically/dermatologically acceptable vehicle, diluent or carrier therefor.

Non-pilling UV-photoprotecting sunscreen compositions

Cosmetic skin compositions containing a weak carboxylic acid and a random copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide. The copolymer reduces skin irritation that is sometimes caused by the weak acid active without reducing delivery of weak acids to skin tissues.

Skin cosmetic compositions containing a weak carboxylic acid and random copolymers of ethylene oxides and propylene oxides

Cosmetic skin compositions containing a dextran or maltodextrin and a weak carboxylic acid. Dextran enhances the anti-aging activity of the weak acids and reduces skin irritation that is sometimes caused by the weak acid active.

Skin cosmetic compositions containing dextran or maltodextrin and a weak carboxylic acid

Topically applicable cosmetic/dermatological compositions well suited for both effective and SPF-enhanced UV-photoprotection of human skin, hair and/or scalp, most preferably packaged as spray delivery systems, contain (a) an effective UV-photoprotecting amount of at least one UV-A and/or UV-B sunscreen, most notably the sunscreen avobenzone, and (b) an amount of the copolymer tricontanyl PVP effective to statistically significantly enhance the SPF value of said at least one UV-A and/or UV-B or avobenzone sunscreen, formulated into (c) a topically applicable, cosmetically/dermatologically acceptable vehicle, diluent or carrier therefor; the subject compositions optionally contain a thus-effective amount of an artificial/sunless tanning agent.

Enhanced SPF UV-sunscreen/tricontanyl PVP photoprotecting (sprayable) formulations

Topically applicable cosmetic/dermatological compositions well suited for both effective and SPF-enhanced UV-photoprotection of human skin, hair and/or scalp, most preferably packaged as spray delivery systems, contain (a) an effective UV-photoprotecting amount of at least one UV-A and/or UV-B sunscreen, most notably the sunscreen avobenzone, and (b) an amount of the interpolymer PVP/dimethiconylacrylate/polycarbamyl/polyglycol ester effective to statistically significantly enhance the SPF value of said at least one UV-A and/or UV-B or avobenzone sunscreen, formulated into (c) a topically applicable, cosmetically/dermatologically acceptable vehicle, diluent or carrier therefor; the subject compositions optionally contain a thus-effective amount of an artificial/sunless tanning agent.

Enhanced SPF sunscreen (sprayable) formulations comprising interpolymers of PVP/dimethiconylacrylate/polycarbamyl/polyglycol ester

Topically applicable cosmetic/dermatological compositions well suited for the UV-photoprotection of human skin, hair and/or scalp, contain (a) an effective UV-photoprotecting amount of at least one UV-A and/or UV-B sunscreen and (b) an amount of a methyl methacrylate crosspolymer effective to, on application of the composition, reduce the greasiness/diffusion and improve the dryness thereof, formulated into (c) a topically applicable, cosmetically/dermatologically acceptable vehicle, diluent or carrier therefor.
