A handheld moisture sensing device for use in determining the moisture content of biological material, such as animal feed. Adapted to be pressed against biological material to be analyzed, the device includes a sensor assembly, including a housing with an end structure including a grate adapted to engage the material to be examined, a near infrared (NIR) LED, an NIR light sensor, a glass mounted in the housing adjacent the light source so that light from the light source passes through the glass, a glass heater positioned adjacent the glass for heating the glass, a lens mounted in the housing adjacent the NIR sensor so that the NIR light reflected off the biological material passes through the glass and is focused by the lens onto the NIR sensor, and a controller connected to the NIR sensor and receiving a signal related to the reflected NIR light received by the NIR sensor.

Handheld moisture sensor device

A thoraco-lumbar spine support/brace for correcting lateral spinal alignment. The brace comprises a frame member defined by two elongate bracing rods extending vertically in generally parallel relation to one another on opposed sides of the body of the wearer that extend generally from the wearer's shoulders to pelvis. Extending across the uppermost ends of the bracing rods is a posterior traction belt. At least two anterior traction slings are provided that extend across an intermediate portion of the bracing rods. A pelvic arch is further provided that extends across the bottom-most ends of the opposed bracing rod members. The posterior traction belt, anterior traction slings and pelvic arch may all be selectively positioned to impart a desired physiological orientation of the waerer's spine, and can be utilized to treat a given condition such as abnormal thoracic kyphosis, pelvic inclination and lumbar lordosis.

Thoraco-lumbar spine support/brace

A cervical remodeling collar positionable over a patient's head and neck and upon the patient's shoulders and chest for reducing forward posture of the patient's head by restoring normal forward curvature to the patient's cervical vertebrae. The collar comprises a main frame having a posterior traction member attached thereto and operative to apply a posteriorly directed force to the patient's head which draws the head into a posterior translation. Also attached to the main frame is an anterior traction member which is operative to apply an anteriorly directed force into the patient's cervical vertebrae which acts in concert with the posteriorly directed force to cause certain cervical vertebrae to be stretched into extension while other cervical vertebrae are simultaneously stretched into flexion. The posterior and anterior traction members are each adjustable so as to allow the posteriorly and anteriorly directed forces applied to the patient thereby to be selectively set to a desired level.
