A cargo tie-down for installation on a vehicle body is provided. The vehicle body includes a rear seat and a child restraint tether anchorage located rearward of the rear seat for attachment of an associated child restraint tether hook provided as part of an associated child restraint for securing the associated child restraint on the rear seat. The cargo tie-down includes a base having a mounting bracket configured for attachment to the vehicle body, a cover member rotatably mounted to the base for covering the base, and a hook main body rotatably mounted to the base. The hook-main body is configured to prevent the associated child restraint tether hook from being secured to the cargo tie-down.

Some embodiments are directed to an airbag lid defining a surface configured to cover a portion of an airbag prior to deployment. The airbag lid can be separated from a hinge side portion and a pillar side portion of an outer fringe by a seam that can tear and thereby separate the airbag lid from the hinge side portion and the pillar side portion of the outer fringe upon airbag deployment. The airbag lid includes a hinge portion disposed adjacent a hinge side edge of the airbag lid assembly, the hinge portion remaining attached to a window frame of a vehicle subsequent to airbag deployment. The hinge portion can include a hinge that is configured to enable the airbag lid to bend about the hinge, such that a portion of the airbag lid at an interior side of the hinge is maneuvered away from the structural pillar upon airbag deployment.

Vehicle restraint systems and methods of use and manufacture thereof

A vehicle cargo lid assembly includes a reversible vehicle cargo lid, a plunger movably mounted to the cargo lid for movement between an extended position for latching the vehicle cargo lid in a closed position and a retracted position for unlatching the vehicle cargo lid, a first handle mounted on a first side of the cargo lid and a second handle mounted on a second, opposite side of the cargo lid. The first and second handles are arranged so that rotation of either handle moves the plunger from the extended position to the retracted position. At least one of the first handle and the second handle includes at least one tab laterally offset from a center line of the plunger that engages and moves the plunger when said at least one of the first side handle and the second side handle is rotated.

Vehicle cargo lid assembly having compact reversible handle

A storage assembly for use in a vehicle is provided. The storage assembly includes a body that includes at least one surface, at least one sidewall, and at least one recess portion defined within the surface. The recess portion is sized to contain at least one object therein. At least one holder is coupled to the sidewall, wherein the holder includes at least one opening defined therein that is sized to receive a container therein. At least two legs extend from the body for supporting the body a predefined distance above a floor of the rear portion of the vehicle. The two legs are spaced a predefined distance apart such that a passageway is defined therebetween. A receptacle is removably coupled within the passageway such that at least a portion of at least one item transported within the vehicle may extend through the passageway when the receptacle is removed.

Storage assembly for use in vehicles

A cargo bin assembly of an automotive vehicle includes a recess that extends below a floor surface. The recess preferably has a stepped conformation where a first, shallow rim portion receives support members without the potential for interfering with items stored in a second, deep storage portion of the recess. Preferably, the deep storage portion is dimensioned to receive side panel lids from side storage assemblies. Removal of the generally planar side panel lids allows elongated items to be received in the cargo area, and the cargo recess allows the side panel lids to be stored. No openings are provided along the lower portion of the side storage cavity to prevent collection of dirt or debris.

A vehicle includes a body structure and a rear vehicular seat assembly that includes a seat back and a cover panel. The seat back is movably coupled with the body structure and is movable between upright and cargo support positions. The cover panel is associated with the seat back and includes a flap, a base portion, and a perforated living hinge. The base portion is fixedly coupled with the body structure. The perforated living hinge includes a plurality of arms. Each arm of the plurality of arms extends between the flap and the base portion to facilitate pivoting of the flap with respect to the base portion about a hinge axis between stowed and bridging positions. The plurality of arms are spaced from each other and cooperate to at least partially define a plurality of perforations. At least one of the perforations is intersected by the hinge axis.

The first storage compartment has an open upper side selectively closed by a first compartment lid. A second storage compartment is also defined by the cargo bin lining. The second storage compartment has an open upper side selectively closed by a second compartment lid. The first and second compartment lids form a cargo floor. A side compartment is defined by a side lining. The side compartment has an open side extending upward from the cargo floor and is selectively closed by a side compartment lid.
