A system and method are disclosed for a precision variable-focus telescope that includes a telescope housing containing an optical system; a gap pad including a first side and a second side, wherein the first side of the gap pad is attached to the telescope housing; a heat spreader including a first side and a second side, wherein the heat spreader is contiguous with the telescope housing and wherein the second side of the heat spreader is attached to the second side of the gap pad; a temperature-sensing device connected to the first side of the heat spreader; and an electric-film heater including a first side and a second side, wherein the second side of the electric-film heater is attached to the first side of the heat spreader.

System and method for a precision variable focus telescope

A system and method for balancing flows of renal replacement fluid is disclosed. The method uses pressure controls and pressure sensing devices to more precisely meter and balance the flow of fresh dialysate and spent dialysate. The balancing system may use one or two balancing devices, such as a balance tube, a tortuous path, or a balance chamber.

A method of mixing a pharmaceutical solution including adding a gas into an interior compartment of a mix bag to form a headspace. The interior compartment of the mix bag includes a top portion and a bottom portion. The headspace adjacent to the top portion contains gas. The method includes adding a solvent into the mix bag, and establishing a bubble column in the interior compartment by activating a recirculation assembly. The recirculation assembly includes a connecting pathway operably coupled to a recirculation pump. A first end of the connecting pathway is coupled to a top gas recirculation port and a second end is coupled to a bottom gas recirculation port of the mix bag such that the recirculation pump draws the gas from the headspace and delivers the gas to the interior compartment via the bottom gas recirculation port. The method includes adding a solute into the mix bag.

A cleaning device for disinfecting a Luer access device includes a housing and a cleaning material. The housing has an opening and elastomeric sidewalls defining an inner cavity. The elastomeric sidewalls are configured to deform and conform to respective surface features of the Luer access device. The cleaning material is positioned within the inner cavity and carries a disinfectant. The cleaning device is configured to removably engage the Luer access device, and the cleaning material is configured to contact at least a portion of the Luer access device when the cleaning device is engaged with the Luer access device.

A counter measure system is provided having a unitary infrared transparent dome including a look angle greater than 180. The dome has two hemispherical regions, with a second region having a truncated bottom end defining an opening to a central cavity inside which electro-optical elements are disposed. The electro-optical elements can view outward through the dome at the look angle. The second region on the dome has a complementary curvature as the first region by continuing a similar radius beyond a transverse horizontal axis or equator. The dome is mounted to a base, which also may be referred to as a bezel. The base defines a rabbet extending circumferentially about the base imaginary center defining an aperture. The base and the dome are formed from different materials but have equivalent coefficients of thermal expansion. In one embodiment the dome if formed from sapphire and the base is titanium.

A track system, for use in connection with bundling one or more objects positioned within a bundling station, includes guiding a length of wire through a track guide assembly. The track guide assembly includes a plurality of straight and corner track segments coupled to each other and to a carrier plate subassembly, the track guide assembly substantially enclosing a wire guide path to guide the length of wire about the one or more objects. The track system further includes a pneumatic system configured to reduce a pressure to release the plurality of straight and corner track segments to free the length of wire during a tension cycle and to increase the pressure to fix the plurality of straight and corner track segments during a feed cycle. Related systems and methods are also provided.

The present description discusses apparatuses and methods for applying straps around a bundle of objects by applying a variable force to tension the strap around the bundle of objects and then actuating a series of cams to control the sealing of the strap around the bundle of objects. The apparatus includes a track assembly extending substantially about a strapping station. The track assembly is adapted to receive a strap and to release the strap during a tensioning operation. An accumulator delivers strap to the track assembly. The accumulator has a strap conveyor system that defines a strap path and an accumulator container adjacent to the strap path. Strap can be accumulated in the accumulator container and subsequently delivered to the track assembly.

A twister assembly for use in connection with bundling one or more objects with a length of wire may cut, grip, eject, and twist the length of wire. The twister assembly includes a main shaft driven by a main shaft motor and a twister shaft driven by a twister motor. The main shaft may be operatively coupled to a gripping mechanism, which is operable between an open and a closed position, a cutting mechanism, and an ejector mechanism. The twister shaft may be operatively coupled to a twisting mechanism, where the twisting mechanism includes a plurality of gears configured to rotate a twister pinion. The twister pinion is further configured to engage the length of wire and twist a portion of the length of wire to form a knot. Related twister assemblies and methods are also provided.
