Certain features relate to configuring a distributed antenna system ('DAS') to interface with and manage components of facility control and monitoring systems while providing wireless communications in a cellular or public safety network. A communications module is configured for receiving facility control signals from facility control and monitoring centers and associated nodes and sensors. A signal processing module is configured to convert the facility control signals a format transportable in the DAS. The signal processing module is also configured to multiplex the facility control signals with mobile voice and data signals being transported in the DAS. The DAS configured to manage components of facility control and monitoring systems can route facility control signals to appropriate facility control centers or the nodes and sensors associated with the facility control centers.

Telecommunications system for transporting facility control data and wireless coverage information

A distributed antenna system is provided for communicating with a plurality of base stations. The distributed antenna system includes a system controller and a master unit communicating with at least one of the plurality of base stations. A remote unit communicates over a high data rate media with the master unit and/or a downstream remote unit. Alternatively, the distributed antenna system includes a controller and a digital time/space crosspoint switch controlled by the controller. A digitizing transceiver is in communication with the digital time/space crosspoint switch. The crosspoint switch is configured to transmit and receive digital data through the digitizing transceiver.

A system includes: a unit configured to communicate a modulated signal via a signal interface; and at least one additional unit configured to receive the modulated signal from the unit. The at least one additional unit includes circuitry configured to remove jitter from a recovered clock signal to generate a jitter reduced clock signal that tracks long-term drift in the modulated signal, wherein the at least one additional unit is configured to generate the recovered clock signal from the modulated signal.

Synchronous transfer of streaming data in a distributed antenna system

A system is provided for adjusting power provided over a channel to a device. The system can include power sourcing equipment and a sub-system. The power sourcing equipment can provide power to a powered device via a channel. The sub-system can determine an amount by which to increase the power based on a resistance of the channel. The power sourcing equipment or the powered device can adjust the power (or load) in response to a command from the sub-system. The sub-system can include at least one measurement device and a processor. The measurement device can measure an output voltage of the power sourcing equipment, an input voltage of the powered device, and a current on the channel. The processor can determine the resistance of the channel based on the output voltage, the input voltage, and the current. The processor can output a command specifying an increase or decrease in the level of power supplied by the power sourcing equipment.

Distributed antenna system using power-over-ethernet

Certain aspects and aspects of the present invention are directed to a distributed antenna system having a downlink communication path, an uplink communication path, and a non-duplexer isolator sub-system. The downlink communication path can communicatively couple a transmit antenna to a base station. The uplink communication path can communicatively couple a receive antenna to the base station. In one aspect, the non-duplexer isolator sub-system can be electronically configured for isolating uplink signals traversing the uplink communication path from downlink signals. In another aspect, a non-duplexer isolator sub-system can be configurable in one or more mechanical steps selecting a frequency response. In another aspect, a non-duplexer isolator sub-system can include an active mitigation sub-system.

Method and apparatus for generating a jitter reduced clock signal from signal transmitted over a communication medium includes receiving, with high speed data interface circuitry, a modulated signal that includes a binary encoded data stream. A recovered clock signal is generated from the modulated signal and tracks the long-term drift in the modulated signal. A jitter reduced clock signal is generated by filtering the recovered clock signal with a filtering circuit having a bandwidth sufficient to remove jitter while allowing the jitter reduced clock signal to track the drift in the modulated signal.

Embodiments of the invention provide a method, distributed antenna system, and components that generate a jitter reduced clock signal from a binary encoded data stream transmitted over a communication medium. The method includes receiving a modulated signal that includes the binary encoded data stream and generating a recovered clock signal that is phase locked to the binary encoded data stream. The method further comprises generating a stable recovered clock signal by filtering the recovered clock signal to remove jitter, while allowing the clock signal to track long-term drift.
