Evacuation system including a network-connected server, computerized communications appliances connected to the server, electronic interface devices connected to alarm systems, in turn, connected to server, the alarms located at first geographic locations fixed in a path a disaster, software executing on the server, the software providing mapping of the first geographic locations by visually representing those on at least one digitally rendered geographic representation of the disaster area, the geographic representations servable to the communications appliances, receiving evacuation-success notification information at the server, the information sent from persons interacting with the electronic interface devices whom are evacuating from the first geographic locations, and visually associating the received evacuation-success notification information to the geographic locations and updating the at least one geographic representation. The evacuation-success notification information including an indication that the persons have evacuated the first locations and are sheltering at second geographic locations associated with the first geographic locations.

A first responder task-optimization system includes a network-connected server having at least one processor and data repository, software running on the at least one processor from a non-transitory medium, the software providing a first function for receiving evacuation-success notification information from persons evacuating from pre-specified locations in the path of the progression of a disaster, a second function for associating the received evacuation-success notification information to the pre-specified locations on at least one digitally rendered geographic representation of the area in the path of the disaster, and a third function for serving the at least one geographic representation including the associated notification information to first responders in the field.

Remote evacuation reporting interface for first responder duty optimization in the field

An Internet-capable radio has a communication port for connection to a modem, a connection function for connecting to the Internet upon user initiation while connected to the modem, sound circuitry for rendering audio data packets received over the Internet as analog audio output, and for delivering the audio output to one or more speaker ports, two or more stored hyperlinks addressing Internet broadcast servers; and a user input adapted to enable a user to select among the stored hyperlinks. Selection of one of the stored hyperlinks by the user input invokes the hyperlink and connects the radio to the server addressed by the hyperlink, initiating thereby an audio data stream as data packets from the broadcast server to the radio, and wherein the radio renders the data stream as analog audio data delivered to the one or more speaker ports. The user input in preferred embodiments has a plurality of pushbuttons associated with hyperlinks, which can be asserted by activating a pushbutton. In some embodiments a directory server is used for editing user profiles and programming connected Internet-capable radios.

Mobile wireless internet portable radio

An Internet radio device is provided, having a dedicated Internet Protocol (IP) telephony mode for practicing telephony and for enabling one-touch initiation and call connection of an IP telephone call to a recipient device. The internet radio comprises, an IP telephony software application for enabling IP telephony, a modem for accessing and connecting to a data-packet-network, a sound circuitry for facilitating audio conversion and transmission, and a programmable array of input indicia for enabling one touch initiation and connection of an IP telephony call operating in the telephony mode. When a user selects the IP telephony mode IP telephony calling is enabled wherein the user may activate a pre-programmed indicia for the purpose of initiating and establishing an IP telephony call to an intended recipient device.

Method and apparatus for practicing IP telephony from an Internet-capable radio

In a conduit system subject to longitudinal conduit twisting, a staking device for fixing the conduit in position on a ground surface has a clamping apparatus having gripping elements on an inside surface of an opening substantially the size and shape of a cross section of the conduit, the clamping element openable to fit over the conduit and closable to clamp to the conduit such that the conduit may not rotate relative to the clamping element, a stake adapter mounted to the clamping apparatus, the stake adapter having a sleeve opening with an opening of a first size first and a longitudinal axis substantially tangential to the clamping element, and a stake having a length and substantially the first diameter to slide into the sleeve opening and into the ground surface, to pin the conduit securely to the ground surface, preventing rotation of the conduit.

A collar for collaring a snake has an elongated collar section forming a physical collar when wrapped around the body portion of the snake. The collar further has a support section for supporting an attachment mechanism for accepting attachment of a tether and a connector system comprising at least two components affixed to strategic portions of the collar section for securing the collar in place around the body portion of the snake. The length of the collar section is such that a portion thereof overlaps itself when fitted around the snake providing an adjustable interface containing separate components of the connector system whereby mating the connector components together. secures the collar in place on the snake. In one embodiment the collar apparatus further includes a concertina movement-neutralization device for reducing concertina movement through the collar.
