Bullet constructed from FRP, preferably basalt. The method includes the step of forming pultruded basalt strands positioned co-axially before milling to form a conventional bullet shape. The process uses a 10 mm FRP rod held by a revolving collet that is interfaced with an upper diamond OD grinder and a lower diamond profile wheel. Gravity allows the rod to rest on a Teflon coated cut off wheel. The upper grinder draws the rod to an exact outer dimension and the lower grinder cuts the bullet to a perfect dimension. Linear slides move the cut off wheel and grinders in for the cutting process and out to allow the finished bullet to pass.

Fiber reinforced bullet and method of manufacture

A method of rehabbing reinforced concrete pilings while in service and without the requirement to demo or otherwise gain access over the ends of an existing column. Design adopts modern environmentally responsible fiber reinforced polymer rebar and other FRP stirrups uniquely shaped into spiral sections requiring only side access for placement, designed to permanently encase the piling with a totally non-rusting non-metal reinforcement lateral containment cage featuring preformed circumference stirrups that mechanically interlock vertically and lateral adjustability to control density. The spiral stirrups extending fully 360-degrees around an existing piling with an additional overlap of at least 45 degrees.

Side loaded remediation method and apparatus for reinforced concrete pilings

An airfoil structure including a plurality of molded monolithic members that extend in a side-by-side manner along the spanwise direction of the airfoil structure. Each molded monolithic member is realized from continuous material that is molded to form a corrugated portion with top and bottom flange portions extending from the corrugated portion. As a result of the molding operation, the corrugated portion is integrally formed with and structurally joined to the top and bottom flange portions. The top flange portions of the side-by-side arrangement of molded monolithic members define a portion of the top surface of the airfoil structure. The bottom flange portions of the side-by-side arrangement of molded monolithic members define a portion of the bottom surface of the airfoil section. The corrugated portions of the side-by-side arrangement of monolithic members define internal support structures (preferably closed-cell cores) extending along the spanwise direction of the airfoil structure. The side-by-side arrangement of monolithic members structurally integrates portions of the top skin and bottom skin to support structures that extend between such top and bottom surface portions. Such structural integration provides enhanced structural resistance to torsional loading of the airfoil section due to the fact that such loads are resisted by the continuous material that makes up the both top and bottom surfaces as well as the support structures extending therebetween.

An apparatus and method for protecting a portion of hair from hair treatment chemicals. The apparatus comprises a protective socket and a core receivable within the socket. The method comprises wrapping the portion of hair to be protected on the core and placing the core with the protected portion of hair within the socket and with the unprotected portion of hair extending outwardly from the socket. A conditioner is applied to the hair at the socket to prevent entry of the hair treatment chemicals into the socket.

Method and apparatus for isolation of hair from treatment materials

An apparatus for dispensing materials, such as toothpaste, stick deodorant, lipstick and the like, comprising a hollow handle for containing material, a dispenser drive member reciprocally disposed in the handle and at least one rotatable operator provided at one end of the handle and operably connected to the drive member for longitudinally moving the drive member within the handle in order to force the material therein out of the opposite end. Also a disposable, collapsible paste material cartridge for containing material to be dispensed within the handle and cooperating with the drive member.

A new type of overspeed control system for a rotor driven by wind or some other fluid flow. The rotor support is mounted so that it can move back some small distance along the direction of the fluid flow, the rotor axis remaining in substantially the same direction during this movement. This backward movement is in response to the thrust generated by the lift and drag forces on the rotor impellers. At a predetermined thrust force, indicating that the rotor is operating in a fluid velocity high enough to cause overspeeding, the backward movement of the rotor engages a brake to slow the rotor. Essential to the invention is the use of the backward movement of the rotor to brake the rotor.

Both an improved loudspeaker enclosure and an improved acoustical process for generating sound radiation in a room is herein disclosed. Basically, the walls of the improved enclosure include a loudspeaker, and a sound transmission port for transmitting sound generated by the back of the loudspeaker cone into the room. The interior of the enclosure includes a tuned acoustical chamber for absorbing the even and odd harmonics of the system resonance frequency, and a compression chamber acoustically coupled at one end to the back of the loudspeaker cone. The compression chamber is acoustically coupled to both the tuned acoustical chamber and the transmission port of the enclosure walls by means of an acoustical coupling. When the transmission port is located in the back wall of the enclosure, the sound transmitted by the transmission port may be directed into and amplified by an acoustical structure formed by the back enclosure wall, the room floor, and the room walls, where it reflects and combines with the sound radiation generated by the front of the loudspeaker cone.
