A hydraulic steering actuator system for a forklift with front and rear sections includes a hydraulic steering motor. The forklift front section includes a mast mounting a pair of fork blades and a pair of wheels. The forklift rear section mounts a pair of drive wheels. The forklift front and rear sections are connected by an articulated connection with a vertical rotational axis. The steering actuator motor driveshaft extends along the vertical rotational axis. First and second actuator mounting brackets are connected to the forklift front and rear sections respectively. One of the mounting brackets includes upper and lower locking assemblies locking the hydraulic steering motor driveshaft whereby torque applied to the steering motor is transmitted to the articulated connection for turning the forklift front section relative to the forklift rear section. The range of motion is preferably 180&#xb0;-205&#xb0; for accommodating side-loading operations from relatively high storage shelves.

Hydraulic steering system for forklift trucks

A multi-station, gantry-based automated welding system includes a gantry mounting robotic arc welders or other equipment. The gantry has a range of travel over multiple workstations, each workstation being adapted for rotatably mounting a respective workpiece on a headstock assembly and a tailstock assembly, which define a workpiece or weldment rotational axis extending therebetween. The tailstock assembly can be located at different positions within a workstation for accommodating different lengths of workpieces. Encoders are installed at the moving elements of the system for precisely tracking and providing output to the computer controller. Primary and secondary power/data distribution systems include cable and hose carriers for providing mobile power/data connections to the gantry and also to the robotic arc welders mounted thereon. The power/data distribution systems are elevated above a facility floor to avoid interfering with equipment, personnel and activities at floor level.

Gantry-based welding system and method

A vehicle transporter includes a frame with a load deck, a slidable undercarriage mounted on the frame and a subframe movably mounted on the frame between raised and lowered positions. Wheel wells are formed in the deck when the subframe is lowered relative to the frame. A pair of outrigger assemblies each includes a hydraulic piston-and-cylinder lift unit for raising and lowering the transporter whereby the undercarriage can be slid between fore and aft positions.

An implement with a ground working tool mounted on an arm pivotably movable between raised and lowered positions includes a pneumatic down pressure control system. The down pressure control system includes upper and lower mounts with an air spring located between them and having compressed and extended configurations with said arm raised and lowered respectively. A parallel plate mechanism maintains the upper and lower mounts in parallel relation and maintains a relatively consistent down pressure of the air spring. Multiple air springs can be provided on an implement and pneumatically interconnected by an air line for simultaneously charging to a constant air pressure.

Method of off-loading a container from a tilt bed trailer

Container lockdown device

The trailer has a deck assembly that includes a level main deck portion and a tail hinged to the main deck for vertical swinging movement between a level transport position, a downwardly and rearwardly inclined ground-loading position, and an upwardly and rearwardly inclined dock-loading position. Raising and lowering of the tail between such positions is carried out by fore-and-aft movement of the shiftable undercarriage of the trailer, such undercarriage being located under the tail and generally behind the hinge when the trailer is in its roading position with the tail in its transport position. When the undercarriage is shifted forwardly beyond a lost motion segment of travel, the tail is allowed to progressively descend by gravity to its ground-loading position. Returning the undercarriage to its roading position beneath the tail causes the tail to be raised back to its transport position. If the tail is to be raised to dock height, the undercarriage is pulled forwardly until the forward termination of its lost motion segment of travel is reached, whereupon an air bag is actuated to elevate a lifting strut member into an enabled position in contacting engagement with the underside of the tail. Thereafter, rearward movement of the undercarriage causes the lifting strut member to push the tail upwardly to the dock-loading height and to hold the tail at such position. To lower the tail back to its transport height, the undercarriage is shifted forwardly and the air bag is deflated, lowering the strut member back to its disabled position and allowing the tail to become once again fully supported by the undercarriage. When the undercarriage is thereafter returned to its rearmost roading position, the trailer is ready for travel. Only one hydraulic cylinder is required for carrying out the tail actuation, together with an air bag actuator when raising of the tail to dock height.

Cam action detachable gooseneck trailer

A self-loading trailer has a flat deck that can be raised and lowered between a horizontal transport position and a downwardly and rearwardly inclined loading position. A pair of winches adjacent the front end of the deck are normally maintained in a stowed position slightly inboard from opposite sides from the deck but can be shifted outwardly into extended positions outboard of the lateral confines of the deck. In such extended positions, the winches may be used to draw a first container up onto the deck as the inclined deck is moved rearwardly under the container, and then a second container behind the first container, without interfering with the first container. When both containers are fully loaded, the winches are retracted back into their stored positions.

Multi-purpose, low-load angle trailer with laterally extendable winch

A folding planter includes a frame formed by first and second frame members supported for relative, longitudinal shifting movement, a primary fluid-actuated piston and cylinder assembly for shifting the first and second frame members between retracted and extended positions, and a pair of planter assemblies each supported on the second frame member for pivotal movement about a vertical pivot axis between an extended planting position and a retracted transport position. Each planter assembly includes a tool bar that extends transverse to the longitudinal axis of the frame in the planting position and parallel to the frame in the transport position, and a plurality of planting units supported on the tool bar. A pair of elongated trusses are connected between the first frame member and the planter assemblies. Each truss presents opposed ends supported for pivotal movement relative to the first frame member and one of the planter assemblies to permit the planter assembly to be moved between the planting and transport positions upon actuation of the primary piston and cylinder assembly. A mechanical linkage is connected to the primary piston and cylinder assembly and to the planter assemblies for driving pivotal movement of the planter assemblies upon actuation of the primary piston and cylinder assembly to assist the trusses in moving the planter assemblies completely into and out of the transport position.

The working depth of obliquely angled disc gangs on the implement can be readily adjusted from the tractor seat with a single hydraulic cylinder through the use of mechanical linkage that couples the hydraulic cylinder with all of the disc gangs for simultaneous movement. Special pivots that join the gangs to the main frame permit the gangs to be manually angled adjusted without affecting depth, and vice-versa, while quick-release locks securely hold the gangs in their selected angular positions yet permit rapid adjustment.
