An integrated order selection and distribution system is provided for selecting and delivering a plurality of articles associated with a preselected customer order. The system includes discrete article receptacles, a conveyor, and a plurality of pack stations. The receptacles releasably retain articles associated with a preselected customer order. Each receptacle is transported to predetermined locations within the system by the conveyor. The pack stations are arranged along the direction of movement of the conveyor to receive the articles to be discharged from the receptacles. A system controller tracks the location of the receptacles in the system and generates a signal that causes each receptacle to discharge its articles at a predetermined location, relative to the pack stations. In the preferred embodiment, the system controller assigns each receptacle to at least one of the pack stations in round-robin fashion based upon the type of articles to be discharged.

A tool for crimping a compression sleeve onto a pipe includes support arms [50] that rotate about fixed pivots [68], and which each carry a slidably mounted crimping jaw [52] that is supported by the associated arm [50] for rotational movement of the jaw about the longitudinal axis thereof, movement of the respective jaws [52] being guided by ramp cams [58] and camming surfaces [60] which are operative to maintain the end faces of the jaws in true parallelism with one another, despite the movement of the jaws [52] about an arcuate path, and, the rotation of those jaws [52] relative to the support arms [50], movement of the jaws being under the influence of sliding surface contact of the camming members in the absence of line contact, while at the same time a greater sliding area between the respective jaws and their associated support arms is provided, thus enhancing the durability of the crimping tool.

A plumbling fitting in the form of an elbow or bend is formed of standard radius at the extrados in order to provide a fitting of minimal size, and, is expanded outwardly intermediate its ends at positions other than at the extrados, in order to increase the internal cross-sectional area of the elbow or bend intermediate the ends thereof and minimize pressure losses in the elbow or bend. A major portion of the cross sectional area is located in the vicinity of the extrados, thus positioning the centroid of that area and the longitudinal axis of the elbow or bend at a location displaced towards the extrados and displaced radially outwardly along the radius of the extrados, thus providing a reduced pressure loss comparable to an elbow or fitting of larger size.
