A dart game target having a base on which is assembled a plurality of individual, relatively movable target members separated from one another by a frame having thin ribs interposed between adjacent members. The target members are yieldably biased in a direction away from the base. Movement of the members in a direction away from the base is limited by laterally extending projections carried by the target members which underlie the inner surfaces of the ribs. The arrangement is such that no part of any rib overlies any exposed part of any target member. Warping of the frame or of the base is compensated for by protrusions on selected ones of the ribs which extend in a direction toward the base.

A novel missed-hit detection and player proximity detection system for an electronic, automatically scored projectile target game apparatus wherein the scoring system thereof is automatically deactivated whenever a player comes within a proscribed distance range from the game and wherein the impact of a projectile which misses the target, yet strikes the front of the game registers as a non-scoring 'missed-hit' and is deducted from the number of remaining throws in that round.

A process is provided for controlling the recharging of a water conditioner. Water usage during selected fractions of a predetermined period of time is sensed. Information signifying the water usage during the selected fractions is stored. A time fraction is automatically determined, based on the stored information, when water is unlikely to be used. A selected parameter, such as volume of water used since recharging, is sensed to determine if recharging is required. The water conditioner is recharged during the automatically determined time fraction if the selected parameter indicates that recharging is required.

A novel dart game which allows one or more players to participate and which has a dart board mounted over a matrix switch and with segments to actuate the matrix switch when struck by a dart thrown by a player and which uses a first microcomputer to scan the matrix switch to detect where the dart struck the dart board and a second microcomputer which performs numerous functions such as totalizing the score for each player, actuating indicators which inform the players of the conditions and score of the game for each player. The novel dart board is formed with movable segments which are guided by guide ribs so as to provide smooth and accurate response of the segments to darts received on the board.

A computer controlled apparatus for grain elevators which includes a computer with keyboard and display and suitable output devices such as a printer and which receives inputs from sensing devices such as scales and moisture analyzers and sensors and which records and retains grain transactions as the grain is weighed and unloaded and in which samples of the grain are selected and analyzed in a moisture meter. The elevator operator inputs with the keyboard particular customer numbers and other desired information and the apparatus eliminates weigh ticket writing and prints over the scale transactions automatically and provides instant decision data such as marketing data so that the accounting functions can be automatically selected.

The present invention relates to an improved liquid dispenser machine for automatically dispensing small, medium or large cups of liquid and eliminates the oscillator required in prior art systems as well as provides feedback to prevent chattering and oscillatory operation of the liquid dispenser valve and also includes a predetermined time delay in the timing circuit which allows fast change of cups without starting the timer.

A novel electronic control circuit which utilizes an improved and greatly simplified arrangement for producing the reference voltage and which includes a probe which includes two pairs of spaced electrodes which are connected in a bridge circuit so that both a reference signal and a control signal is obtained for closing an energizing circuit and latch it until it is time for regeneration and in which the regeneration will occur only at preset times so as to not interfere with normal use.

A novel electronic control circuit which includes a probe for detecting the conductivity in ion exchange material in a water softener and wherein the probe includes two pairs of spaced electrodes which are connected in a bridge circuit and connected so as to close an energizing circuit and latch it until it is time for regeneration and wherein the regeneration is controlled so that it will occur only at those times which are preset as, for example, during the night when the regeneration will not interfere with normal use of the water supply.

An electronic dryer for grain or other materials which includes a gas burner and one or more blowers for providing heated air into a plenum chamber from which such heated air passes through the material to be dried between two spaced walls formed with openings such that the heated air can pass therethrough for drying the material. Temperature sensing means in the form of an elongated member such as a wire is mounted within the plenum chamber so as to detect the plenum chamber temperature and to control the duty cycle of the burner and second and third temperature sensing means are mounted between the spaced walls adjacent the inlet and outlet areas of the heated air so as to detect and determine the moisture content in the materials to be dried. These sensors are also elongated and detect the temperature at many portions of the dryer so as to more accurately determine the temperature.
