Handle for a musical instrument

A musical shaker instrument has a shaped shell and pellets enclosed therein. The shell has two parts. A first large shell part (,) includes an exterior surface forming a first end portion and a central portion. The first part truncates at a second end portion of the shell and includes an opening (,) in the truncated end portion. The second small shell part (,) has a cap member (,) for closing opening in the first large shell part. The first and second shell parts are joined together by an internal joint which is not exposed to the external surface of the shell. In a second embodiment, the second shell part forms a handle.

Blow-molded shaker

An idiophone musical instrument has at least one agogo bell and a handle or bracket. The bell has an oval, elliptical or rounded shape with a pair of opposed slits, and is formed of plastic. A mounting construction for the bell includes a multisided aperture formed in the bell's body and a mating multisided stem extending from the handle or bracket. The mounting construction prevents twisting even during playing, and permits a choice of different physical orientations of playing positions of the bell.

A hollow block-type percussion instrument including a body, the body having a first end, a second end, and a substantially semicircular cross-section along a length thereof between the first end and the second end.

Block percussion instrument

An egg shaped musical shaker instrument has an egg shaped shell and pellets enclosed therein. The shell has two parts. A first large shell part includes an exterior surface forming a large end portion and a central portion. The first part truncates at a small end portion of the shell and includes an opening in the truncated small end portion. The second small shell part has a cap member for closing the opening in the first large shell part. The first and second shell parts are joined together by an internal joint which is not exposed to the external surface of the shell. In a second embodiment, a handle, which replaces the second small shell part, is attached to the first large shell part.

Egg shaped shaker

A drum rim includes inner and outer rim portions. The outer rim portion is smoothly tapered to provide comfort to the hands of the player. An inner rim portion is arranged to engage the drum skin at a position that has a diameter which is less than the central diameter of the drum wire.

Percussion instrument

A tambourine is fabricated from a single piece frame having two hinges which divide the frame into a central section and two end sections. As assembled the frame is bent at the hinges and curved so that the two end sections can be joined by a connecting member. The jingles are preferably mounted by grooves which intersect jingle slots and are arranged on opposite sides of the frame to retain the jingle mounting pin.

A percussion instrument comprises an oblong plastic block having a generally rectangular block portion with a front face and top and bottom surfaces, and a flange extending outwardly from the sides and rear. An elongated slot in the front face extends rearwardly to the rear flange, and laterally between the side flanges. The block has a raised ridge on the top face adjacent the front face for striking. In addition, landings are formed in the flanges which, together with a cooperating bracket assembly, act as a means for mounting the block.
