Multiple control modules () provide various power control functions including occupancy sensing, ambient light level sensing, manual touch switch (push button) preset stations, light dimming and power control relay switching. The control modules () are interconnected in a conventional four-wire local area network for executing different power control functions in response to remote wireless commands as well as preset manual switch commands at the wall box level. The local area network () supplies DC operating power and communicates programming command and control module status information signals to all network control modules (). One or more control modules () include an infrared signal sensor, a laser signal sensor, a signal decoder, a data microcontroller, a parameter lookup table and multiple light emitting diodes (LEDs). The LED diodes are used individually or in combination, in one or more colors and blink rate, to indicate the programming mode, or provide sensor feedback, or indicate device status, according to information contained in a command signal transmitted by a remote programming unit ().

Intelligent lighting control system and network comprising multiple-channel photo sensor

An intelligent dimmer () for managing a lighting load () coupled to an AC voltage source () is disclosed. In particular embodiments, the intelligent dimmer () may be incorporated into a system () and method (-) for managing lighting power density. In one embodiment of the intelligent dimmer (), a control circuit () is coupled between the lighting load () and the AC voltage source (). A threshold load current value is established for the lighting load (). A line voltage sensor () reads the line voltage across the lighting load () and a load sensor () samples the load current being provided to the lighting load (). The control circuit () compares the sampled load current to the threshold load current to determine the presence of a cutoff condition and, in response thereto, selectively adjusts the line voltage applied to the lighting load ().

Intelligent dimmer for managing a lighting load

An apparatus is provided for feeding fabric workpieces one at a time from the top of a stack of like workpieces having a first rough side and a second smooth side, the workpieces being stacked with alternating sides up. A computer controlled picker is used to separate the top workpiece from the remaining workpieces in the stack, and for depositing the workpiece on a downstream conveyor. An ultrasonic face detector is mounted above the first conveyor for determining whether the side of the workpiece facing the face detector--the top surface--is relatively rough or relatively smooth. A pivoting feeder/inverter is provided at the end of the first conveyor. If the workpiece has the desired side up for subsequent sewing operations, the inverter/conveyor is placed in a first position so that the workpiece is directed into a sandwich belt type conveyor which will not change the orientation of the workpiece. If the workpiece has the desired side down, the feeder/inverter is pivoted to a second position to enable the workpiece to enter an inverter conveyor which will rotate the workpiece 180 degrees about an axis along the direction of travel to place the workpiece in the correct orientation for the subsequent sewing operation. Thus, this apparatus takes all of the fabric workpieces from a stack in which the sides facing up alternate, and automatically places all of them in the same orientation prior to arrival at a sewing station.
