A cargo organizer includes a base, a storage compartment supported by the base and a deployment system for the storage compartment. The storage compartment includes a plurality of wall panels each having a hinged connection with the base and pivotable about its hinged connection between a stowed orientation and an upright orientation. The storage compartment is selectively deployable between a collapsed condition and an open condition. In the collapsed condition, each wall panel is lowered to its stowed orientation while, in the open condition, each wall panel is raised to its upright orientation. In the collapsed condition, the wall panels include an underlying wall panel and two adjacent overlying wall panels in spaced opposition about the underlying wall panel. The deployment system includes a strap system that connects an inboard portion of the underlying wall panel to respective outboard portions of the two adjacent overlying wall panels.

A vehicle article carrier system incorporating a pair of stamped support rails that are adapted to be fixedly secured within respective roof ditches of a roof of a vehicle. At least one cross bar may be secured to portions of the support rails. Bottom wall and side wall portions of the support rails are shaped to rest nestably within their respective roof ditches. The support rails add significant structural strength and rigidity to the roof structure of a vehicle once fixedly secured within the roof ditches.

A vehicle article carrier adapted to carry articles above an outer body surface of a vehicle. A pair of support rails are used, each formed from a non-metallic material, and each further including a bottom wall having at least one cutout potion at an intermediate point along its length. At least one cross bar may be supported from the support rails. At least one bracket may be associated with each support rail. The bracket is dimensioned to fit within the cutout portion in its support rail. The cross bar may be secured directly to the brackets such that ends of the cross bar are fully supported only by the brackets and the outer body surface of the vehicle. Thus, the support rails experience substantially no load from the brackets and the cross bar attached to the brackets.

A bicycle carrier adapted to be secured to an article carrier portion of an existing vehicle article carrier so as to carry the bicycle supported thereon in a vertical orientation over a liftgate of a vehicle, and normal to an outer surface of the liftgate. The bicycle carrier includes a wheel supporting member for engaging one wheel of a bicycle when the bicycle is placed in a vertical orientation. A frame supporting assembly engages a portion of the frame to hold the bicycle to the bicycle carrier. The bicycle carrier permits a single individual to load and unload a bicycle from the bicycle carrier without being required to lift the bicycle up onto the roof of a vehicle. Since the bicycle is supported at an angle generally normal to the liftgate, visibility through the rear window of the liftgate is also improved when a bicycle is being supported on the bicycle carrier.

Bicycle carrier adapted to be used on a vertically orientated vehicle article carrier

A knockdown bed liner assembly for pickup-type trucks comprising interconnectable floor, side and front panels, and a separate tailgate panel. The floor and side panels are shaped to accommodate the wheel wells of a truck, and the floor panel is provided with a unique rib construction to facilitate movement of cargo on the panel and to permit air circulation between the floor panel and the truck bed floor to protect against condensation and rust. The panels are packaged and shipped in knockdown form in a relatively compact easy-to-handle container ready for assembly at the point of use.
