A bottom unloader having a material conveyor for moving material from a hopper centrally located in a bin to a location outside of the bin. A drive apparatus mounted on the outer end of the conveyor operates the conveyor and adjusts the tension on the conveyor chain. The outer end of the conveyor has a door that is clamped to a closed position with eccentric clamping locks. An elongated auger collector is mounted on a rotatable turntable located in the central hopper. A cap having a side opening for the auger collector is mounted on the turntable. The auger collector is drivably connected with the conveyor so that, when the conveyor is operated, the auger collector is rotated. A separate drive operated with a hydraulic motor is used to move the auger collector in a circular path.

Bottom unloader

A mixer having an open top mixing box accommodating a pair of lower augers and a pair of upper paddle conveyors drivably connected to the augers. A power box pivotally mounted on one end of the mixing box is drivably connected to the augers with releasable drive connections. The power box is a motor driven power transmission assembly that can be disconnected from the augers and removed from the mixing box. A movable door associated with the bottom of the mixing box is used to selectively open and close a discharge opening allowing mixed and blended material to be discharged into a conveyor.

A material transport and self-unloading vehicle having an open top hopper for accommodating bulk material, as animal feeds. A first material conveying auger is located along the bottom of the hopper for moving material toward a side discharge opening in the hopper. A second paddle auger is located above the first auger for moving material rearwardly in the hopper. A side unloading conveyor mounted on the side of the hopper adjacent the side discharge opening operates to receive material moved through the discharge opening by the first auger and move the material laterally of the hopper to a discharge or feeding location. A drive assembly drivably connects a power take-off drive shaft to the first and second augers and unloading conveyor for concurrent operation of the augers and unloading conveyor. The bottom wall of the hopper has a curved section extended contiguously around the leading section of the flights of the first auger and a linear bend or break line located adjacent the leading side of the first auger in a horizontal plane that generally intersects the axis of rotation of the first auger.

Animal feed transport and self-unloading vehicle

A motor vehicle equipped with lift arms and a bucket for handling material. The vehicle has a fluid power system including piston and cylinder assemblies to pivot the lift arms between down and up positions and tilt the bucket relative to the lift arms. A bucket leveling control apparatus operates a fluid control valve in response to the pivotal movement of the lift arms to control the flow of fluid to the bucket tilting piston and cylinder assembly to maintain the bucket substantially level during the movement thereof between down and up positions. The fluid control valve is operable to supply fluid under pressure to the bucket tilt piston and cylinder assembly to move the bucket to a dump position.

Tilt control

A hay stacking machine having a platform for supporting a stack of hay. A radial trough extends from the center to the outer peripheral edge of the platform for accommodating hay being transported to it from a rake pickup. The trough includes a longitudinally extending side wall and a bottom wall which extends laterally to merge with the platform top surface. The bottom wall merges at its forward inner end with a portion of the bottom wall extending upwardly to merge with the platform surface. A portion of the platform surface extends over the vertical wall of the trough and over reciprocating out of phase feed teeth in the bottom wall and vertical wall of the trough. An annular frame extends around the platform and rotates relative thereto. A plurality of upright posts are attached to the annular frame. Compression arms extending to the center of the platform are pivoted on the posts and engage hay located on the platform. The pressure arms moving arcuately engage the hay to sweep it along the platform top surface causing stack of hay to form from the bottom up. The compression arms decrease their pressure on the hay as the arms move upwardly while the total pressure remains substantially constant since the hay increases in weight as it increases in height. The unloading of the platform is accomplished by opening gate sections forming a cage around the stack and tipping the platform rearwardly and downwardly followed by operation of a push-off member which moves from the forward end to the rearward end of the platform.

Machine and method for stacking hay

A hay stacking machine having a platform for supporting a stack of hay. The platform has a trough extended from its center to the outer peripheral edge for accommodating hay. A hay feeding mechanism having reciprocating teeth operates to move hay from the outer edge of the platform generally toward the center thereof. One embodiment of the machine has a movable elevator member located in the center of the platform operable to move hay upwardly to build the center of the stack. An annular cage extends around the platform and rotates relative thereto. The cage has a plurality of upright posts carrying compression arms which extend toward the center of the platform. The pressure arms move with the cage and engage the hay located on the platform to sweep it along the platform top surface causing a stack of hay to form from the bottom up. The unloading of the hay stack from the platform is accomplished by opening gate sections of the cage and tipping the platform rearwardly and downwardly. A push-off member moves from the forward end to the rearward end of the platform to slide the hay stack off the platform.
