An apparatus includes a processor and a storage storing instructions causing the processor to receive representation metadata indicating features of representation data to be generated from a plurality of representation portions, receive a command to generate at least one row of the representation data, determine a subset of data blocks of a data blob required to generate the at least one row, and a subset of node devices that store the subset of data blocks, for each node device of the subset of node devices, derive a node block map identifying at least one data item of a data block for generating a representation portion, transmit the node block maps to the subset of node devices; and transmit a command to the subset of node devices to each generate at least one row of one of the plurality of representation portions.

Dynamic distributed generation of data representations from highly condensed data

An apparatus includes a processor and storage storing instructions causing the processor to store, at a node device of a grid of node devices, a data block of a data blob, receive data blob metadata indicative of an organization of data items within the data blob, receive a command to generate, from the data block, at least one row of a representation portion of a plurality of representation portions from which a 2D representation of the data blob is to be generated, use the data blob metadata and a node block map indicative of which data items of the data block are required to generate the representation portion to derive one or more transforms to be performed with the data block to generate the at least one row of the representation portion, and perform the one or more transforms with the data block to generate the at least one row.

An apparatus includes a processor and a storage storing instructions causing the processor to compare quantities of node devices storing partitions and of the partitions to determine whether the node device quantity is less than the partition quantity. In response to the node device quantity of node being less: for each stored copy of each partition, assign a cost to load the copy of the partition based at least on a size of the partition; add dummy node devices to cause the node device quantity to at least equal the partition quantity; for each dummy node device, assign a very high cost to load each partition; use MILP to derive a first pass assignment of a single copy of each partition to be loaded within either a node device or dummy node device; and transmit an indication of at least the first pass assignment to the node devices.

Securing network traffic by distributing policies in a hierarchy over secure tunnels

In some networking situations, securing an inner packet of a tunnel packet requires an intermediary networking device knowing a destination address of the secured inner packet. Consequently, an identity of a secured network is known to others and presents a security risk. The provided technique addresses this risk by: i) establishing at a first security interface a first secured network connection between a first and second secured network, the connection established for a first packet addressed to a virtual security interface and destined for the second secured network; and ii) responding to a network condition by establishing at a second security interface at least one second secured network connection between the first and second secured network, the connection established for a second packet addressed to the virtual security interface and destined for the second secured network.

Transporting keys between security protocols

A first ultrasound dataset that represents an object in a first coordinate system can be acquired at a first time. Three landmarks of the object can be located in the first ultrasound dataset to define a second coordinate system. A first transform from the first to the second coordinate system can be determined for the first ultrasound dataset. A second ultrasound dataset that represents the object in the first coordinate system can be acquired at a second time. The same three landmarks in the second ultrasound dataset can be located to define a third coordinate system. A second transform from the first to the third coordinate systems can be determined for the second ultrasound dataset.

Methods and systems for aligning views of image data

A volumetric ultrasound system is used to determine the velocity of tissue using 3D echo data. In particular, the velocity of tissue in a 3D volume is determined by steering ultrasound beams to the tissue in the 3D volume and forming 3D echo data from receive ultrasound beams formed from reflections of the steered ultrasound beams from the tissue in the 3D volume. The velocity of the tissue associated with the 3D echo data can be determined using velocity determination techniques. The velocity of the tissue can be displayed in real-time. For example, in one embodiment, a sub-volume of the 3D volume can be scanned and the determined velocity of the tissue displayed in about 50 milliseconds (ms).

Methods and systems for determining velocity of tissue using three dimensional ultrasound data

An apparatus and method for testing rutting susceptibility of test specimens. The apparatus includes a specimen holder having cavities for receiving one or more test specimens having an exposed surface for testing. A load bearing surface is positioned above the specimens to prevent friction from effecting the rutting analysis. A load device including at least one loading wheel is positioned adjacent the specimen holder wherein the loading wheels matingly engage the load bearing device. A motive sources provides relative rotational movement between the specimen holder and the loading wheels whereby a load is repeatedly applied to the test specimens under a constant velocity. The method includes testing rutting susceptibility of test specimens by providing a rotational load thereupon whereby the load reflects a linear or constant load across the predetermined path of travel of the loading wheels over the exposed surface of the test specimens.

Apparatus and method for measuring rutting susceptibility

An apparatus for compacting a material sample, such as paving material, including a cylindrical compaction mold and a mold support arranged to support one end of the mold. The mold support includes a turntable mounted for rotation about a rotational axis and a pair of mold-engaging members, such as rollers, extending from the turntable to engage the mold along its periphery and impart a gyratory motion to the mold as the turntable rotates. A mold retainer is also provided that includes a plurality of mold restraints spaced apart from one another about a central axis and arranged to engage the mold about the mold periphery at the end of the mold opposite the mold support. One of the mold restraints is attached to a movable latch that moves the mold restraint between an open position and a closed position. The open position locates the mold restraint out of engagement with the mold to allow the mold to slide into position inside the compactor apparatus. The closed position moves the mold restraint into contact with the mold and pushes the mold into a tilting position such that the axis of the mold intersects with the axis of the compression at the top of the mold. A compaction ram is mounted for axial movement into the mold along a predetermined axis of compression. As the ram applies compressive force, the turntable is rotated and the attached mold-engaging members impart a gyratory motion to the mold during compression.

Gyratory compactor

An apparatus and method for compacting a material sample, such as soil or paving material, including a mold for receiving the material sample and a ram mounted for movement into a first open end of the mold to provide an axial compressire force thereto. The compacting apparatus also includes a base for supporting a second end of the mold. In operation, the mold is gyrated simultaneously with the application of the axial compressire force by the ram. Gyration is provided by tilting the mold from an initial neutral position in which the center longitudinal axis of the mold is collinear with the axis of compression to a tilted operative position in which the central longitudinal axis of the mold is angularly offset from the axis of compression. The base is thereinafter rotated relative to the mold so as to revolve the center of the second end of the mold about the axis of compression, thus, gyrating the axially compressed material sample. Such simultaneous gyration and axial compression simulates the rolling of a vehicle tire or other compaction device over a material surface.
