A mammography system using a tissue exposure control relying on estimates of the thickness of the compressed and immobilized breast and of breast density to automatically derive one or more technic factors. The system further uses a tomosynthesis arrangement that maintains the focus of an anti-scatter grid on the x-ray source and also maintains the field of view of the x-ray receptor. Finally, the system finds an outline that forms a reduced field of view that still encompasses the breast in the image, and uses for further processing, transmission or archival storage the data within said reduced field of view.

Spirit level

A multi-function spirit-level adapted for use as inclination indicators for different specific slopes comprising a central conventional spirit level bubble tube attached at each distal end to a rectangular member with no support or other structure therebetween. The rectangular members are positioned normal to the central bubble tube. One of the rectangular members has a greater surface area than the other. The rectangular members are positioned at the ends of the bubble tube so that their four narrow outer surfaces are parallel. The bubble tube is centered on one of the rectangle members and positioned off center on the other. The offset position of one end of the bubble tube allows the spirit level to measure four different slope angles by resting the rectangular members on each of their four different outer parallel surfaces. Visible indica on the top of at least one of the rectangular members indicates the discrete slope angle of each of the pair of parallel surfaces when those surfaces are resting on an item whose slant angle is to be measured is expected to be an opposite and equal slanting indication angle. The bubble tube has at least a pair of spaced apart markers between which the bubble is positioned when one of the selected discrete slope angles is achieved. When the slope angle is not exact user interpretation or other bubble tube indicators determines the approximate slope angle of the surface that is being slope angle checked. A shirt pocket clip is attached to one exterior surface of one of the rectangular members for removable attachment to the users pocket for ease of transport.

Multi-function spirit-level

A polyfunctional spirit-level comprising a four-sided, elongated spirit-level body containing a bubble tube, axially disposed therein and adapted to be viewed from above when using three of the sides, two sides adapted for use as a level and two side adapted for use as a declination indicator for different slopes of sewer lines, said level small enough to be slipped in one's pocket and carried on one's person.

Polyfunctional spirit-level

A method and apparatus for sealing pavement joints or seams is disclosed. The apparatus includes a wheeled support platform which supports an airtight container of sealant composition which hardens upon contact with the atmosphere. A second airtight container includes a supply of water or other liquid. An air compressor is mounted upon the wheeled support platform and compressed air is selectively coupled to the containers of sealant composition and water. An oil film on the surface of the sealant composition is utilized to prevent it from hardening while in the container. A third output of the air compressor and outputs in the water and sealant composition tanks are coupled to a wheeled applicator which is adapted to be moved over the pavement seam. Compressed air is utilized to blow debris out of the pavement seam and a water mist and bead of sealant composition are pneumatically forced through the applicator from the respective containers in response to the selective application of compressed air to the containers.
