A variable ram for coiled tubing comprises a pair of opposing rams, each ram having a ram body with a vertical channel formed therein; a pair of opposing pins within each ram head, the pins extending into the channel; and a toothed gripper having a hole therein sized to mount over its respective pin.

Variable size coil tubing gripping elements

A stripper/packer includes first and second packing elements, which are interchangeable to alleviate inventory concerns. The upper actuating hydraulic piston is the same diameter as the lower piston, which allows the operator to utilize the same amount of pressure to maintain a seal during transition between packing elements. Both packing elements are separately actuated from the lower side allowing the wellbore pressure to assist the seal.

Stripper/packer

A chemical analyzer (10) includes a fluid dispensing system (46) with a carrier member (18) and fluid dispensing head (72). The carrier member (18) includes a docking fixture (52) and the fluid dispensing head includes a docking receptacle (54). By engagement of the docking fixture and receptacle the carrier member carries the fluid dispensing head to a position above a recess (34) into which fluid is precisely dispensed. The carrier member also returns the fluid dispensing head to a storage location (64) substantially separating the fluids to be dispensed from the environment of the analyzer. When the fluid dispensing head is in its storage location the carrier member may disengage to perform other functions in the analyzer.

Fluid dispensing apparatus

A chemical analyzer (10) includes a fluid dispensing system (46) with a carrier member (18) and fluid dispensing head (72). The carrier member (18) includes a docking fixture (52) and the fluid dispensing head includes a docking-receptacle (54). By engagement of the docking fixture and receptacle the carrier member carries the fluid dispensing head to a position above a recess (34) into which fluid is precisely dispensed. The carrier member also returns the fluid dispensing head to a storage location (64) substantially separating the fluids to be dispensed from the environment of the analyzer. When the fluid dispensing head is in its storage location the carrier member may disengage to perform other functions in the analyzer.

Fluid dispensing method

A voice transmission system including a microphone (13) in combination with active sound cancellation means comprising a speaker (14) and a signal processor (17) for generating a mirror-image waveform with respect to the signal generated when speaking into the microphone. The mirror-image waveform is used to activate the speaker (14) thereby cancelling the user's voice. This provides the user with complete privacy, since the cancellation prevents the user's voice from being overheard by others, even in a crowded area.

A precision liquid reagent fluid dispensing apparatus (10) and method includes a continuously operating pump (16) inducting and pressurizing ambient air. The pressurized air is delivered at a first location into a flow-through volume (18) with provision to substantially completely abate at a second location any noncontinuous air flow or air pressure variations from the pump. A long-lived pressure sensor (32) which is substantially free of drift is associated with the flow through volume at a third location and provides a signal indicative of sensed air pressure. A controller (36) by reference to a calibration standard for the sensor provides a time-variant control signal in response to the sensed air pressure. At a forth location a duty cycle valve (38) vents pressurized air from the flow through volume in response to the control signal to provide at the second location a precisely regulated dispensing air pressure. The dispensing air pressure is applied via a reagent liquid container (46) and closure member (62) to a liquid reagent to pressurize this reagent for dispensing at a precise rate via a dispensing valve (82). The dispensing valve is sealingly carried by the closure member to reduce leakage paths and corrosion opportunities in the apparatus of the present invention.

Precision fluid dispersing apparatus and method

An aqueous photopolymer composition is produced by adding a monomer to a latex of a partially neutralized carboxylated acrylic copolymer, having an acid number greater than 80, along with photoinitator and components to produce an aqueous coatable and alkali developable photoresist composition. Preferred neutralization is 30-50% for dip-coating and 40-60% for screen-printing to produce 1 mil lines and 1 mil space after ultraviolet exposure and mild alkali development.

A pair of brackets positioned on opposite sides or opposite ends of a mattress and interconnected by a strap or the like which is disposed between the mattress and box spring or other mattress support; at least one of the opposing brackets being fitted with a holster support bar which is vertically adjustable utilizing a plurality of apertures in the bracket and conventional means of attachment such as bolts and nuts or other fasteners.
